If they're the same size as the stock battery, then I doubt they're really 3500 mAh. Most likely it's just a fake. A real 3500 mAh battery would at least be twice as thick.
That's not battery relate.

Right now kernel ony works with 1900 mAh batteries. Beyond that, it'll only go crazy. Any way, beta it's rolling down now, we will hear about that soon.

Who said that those battery same size?? I said that they are acting same performance.....:silly:
You didn't say anything about size. At all... That's why I asked. If they're the same size, they're probably the same capacity with a fake sticker on top of it, hence same battery life. If they're different, then there's probably something else at play.

I have a couple of 3500mAh battery but they are acting like 1900 mAh in this kernel
Have you try to delete all file in /data/battd, shut down device, remove battery, restart device without battery (plug on wall), then plug battery and boot ?
This create a correct system battd ; Try and tell us if work
Thx !

Higher battery capacity, longer battery life. Lower battery drain (current), longer battery life. Higher battery capacity and lower battery drain, much longer battery life :)

You can calculate by yourself using simple formula: hours = battery capacity / current. For example with 100mA consumption:
1900 / 100 = 19h
3500 / 100 = 35h

Unfortunately Atrix doesn't show real current but Battery monitor widget can approximate by voltage drop.

Where did you find 3500mAh battery? Link please :)
Link is here :)

They're not the same size as stock. They're way too thick, almost double as stock. Check the above link. I am planning to purchase as the seller on eBay has a good rating and he sells a wide range of genuine products. I don't care about the thickness too much, as battery life is more important to me.

Even if the kernel does not work well with 3500 mAh batteries, I would use them with CM7 in the worst case and enjoy a full week of charge :)

So what you suggest, can I go for the purchase?

I've got a similar 3500mAh battery, and it does last longer. But even though I'm still on the old kernel (epinter cm10), the battery indicator isn't correct. It slowly goes down to 1%, but then the phone continues working for many hours. It's like the extra capacity is all at the last 1%.

I dont really unterstand what is meant by that. Is this Bad for the Future of Our atrix and the kernel development?

And another question.
I tried to make an answer in the cm 10.1 thread but there is no button for that. So I cant write anything there. Why that?

Thanks for help and of course thanks to the developers. Running new kernel for over a month now. Just donated and hope for an update soon. :p

Sorry could not post the link! Im not aloud to! :banghead:
Search for tegra 2 in cyanogenmod 10.1 in google plus. Its about Support of tegra 2 non Neon capable. Hope you will find it.

For a long time I was following this every day, but have been gone for a few weeks. Is this still a team effort or is all present work being done by kp? Honest question, no offence intended (I know how touchy things can get around here). Thx

It's still in progress. They're testing power management and battery consumption which will take longer than just testing whether something works like with the first release.

The no NEON support in our Atrix 4g, as far I read in CM's blog, means that in somepoint, we won't be able to update. But not quite yet. We can have a stable CM9.

But it apears that since CM10.x NEON support is need for some reason.

Google Now and that kind fo stuff. But, I think we can have a nice 10.1 without it. :).

As I understand it, a lot of the newer Google apps now rely on Neon support.

Without Google app support, upgrading to newer versions of Android wouldn't seem to be too appealing.

A fully-functional CM 10.1 would still make the phone very capable, however.

It'll be really interesting to see if Google really does drop non-neon support entirely. There's a reason the swype method on our phones do not work, and that's because of Neon from what I've read. However, Google Keyboard is compatible with non-neon phones, and works great on my atrix. It'll be interesting to see what other non-neon apps are maintained.
