Low mic, again.

Sooo guys, as the title says. I have an X1032 and after stock I went through most roms to fix this problem. Now Im using Cyanogen cm-11-20141112-NIGHTLY-falcon with no avail.

+ I tried custom eXperience kernel with Trickster app, no results, even setting mic gain to +10
+ Wired freehands works perfectly.
+ Speaker mode works ok.
+ No problems listening music, volume pretty good.
+ I have been looking at mixer_paths but I dont really know which line is the inline-mic, headphones and speaker lines are more obvious.
+ Fauxsound doesnt seem to work for this (or it doesnt have such a setting)

----
+ While not critical as above, when I try to use the camera it says "cant connect to the camera"

Hope you guys have an idea what to do next.

WiFi Issues

Hey,

Just want to report in that as someone who was struck by the WiFi problems, which could only be solved by setting static IPs with some APs, the problem is fixed at least for me.
Since I last updated to cm-11-20141102-NIGHTLY and today to 20141113 the problem disappeared (skipped a lot of nightlies since beginning of October though).

On a sidenote I had the problem with 20141102 of not being able to import contacts from my sim, which is fixed now with 20141113.
And I want to add that it may be a good idea to put somewhere in the documentation for the installation, that one has to have GPS activated in stock before flashing CM, or otherwise GPS might not work (as some, including myself, have experienced).

Anyway: Thanks to the developers!

Is there a change log of some sort where I can see what was done in each nightly? I still run 2014-0812 because I don't know if and to which version I should upgrade. I really miss the snapshot builds :[

Here, you can find a 20141016 rom with OpenPDroid integrated that is an upgrade from 20140812. Works fine as a daily driver.

If you can find it, 20141106 might also be worth investigating as it just dodges this serious issue on Jira:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/NIGHTLIES-351

I haven't tried 20141106 yet, just going by reports...so let us know how things went if you do try it.

EDIT:
Try here for the latest changes:

Thanks for the changelog web, I always take a read in CyanDelta before upgrading but that web is way better.

Hello to everyone!
Currently I'm stuck to using CM11 20140629-NIGHTLY (a very old one, made by dhacker) on my XT1033 because of lots of bugs introduced in later nightlies and lack of milestone release.

Most threads on CM11 development for Moto G (1st gen) that I've seen are TL;DR, too much time has passed since I kept track on what else is deteriorating with every build. People reported problems with WiFi, GPS, audio lag, battery drain, etc., so I got tired and stayed with that old nightly.

Would anybody recommend updating to a current nightly? Will my dual-sim still work?
The world will soon have Android 5, while we still don't have a fully functional and stable 4.4.4 for falcon :(

Thank you.

I have a XT1032 and no problem with last nightly. There is support for dual-sim afaik, you should give last nightly a try, you can always go back to a previous one.

The rom in my post is fine on the XT1033. Try it and leave feedback in the thread..

The tumultuous period that followed the departure of @dhacker29 thankfully ended with stable nightlies a while back now. The rom above is one such nightly that just works.

Never ever try to downgrade a nightly, always revert using a NAND backup you did right before flashing the newest.
downgrading may lead to major issues that cannot be fixed in other way that "full wipe" and scratch re-install.

Yep, always do a NAND backup.
I wanted to say that, going back with a backup...I should be more expressive.

I'm fairly certain I've found a bug, can anyone else confirm / help me submit a bug report?

How to reproduce:
  1. Turn on Profiles
  2. Choose a profile to configure
  3. Under SYSTEM SETTINGS, set Ring mode to "Ring"
  4. Turn on the newly configured profile
  5. Send yourself a text message.

What I expected to happen: my phone to play the notification noise only
What actually happened: my phone vibrated along with the notification noise

I've unchecked vibration in Hangout's app menu. This is reversible when I shut off Profiles.

iPlayer not working

I hope I am posting this in the right place - please redirect me if I'm not.

I have installed CM 11-20141124 on my MotoG and the BBC iPlayer app has ceased to work. You can see lists of programmes fine, but if you try and watch one it says "This content doesn't seem to be working". If you select "Try again" it shows the 'wait' spiral and never gets as far as showing the programme itself.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any idea how to get 'round it?

Thanks,

Oli.
