While I unfortunately don't have a solution for you I did find the following two guides for the previous lines of the EVO line (the original one and the 3D):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795182
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1303507

Now reading a couple of pages into them it seems like MMS was the biggest thing to get going but both devices eventually got it. The thing is, unless someone else knows how to get it working on our phone it might not be possible right this moment (unless you feel adventerous and want to try to apply the fix for the 3D, but I don't recommend that) but it should be eventually.

That all being said, I haven't used MMS for a while (since it had problems with CM10 originally, even on Sprint) and since I've moved on to my Nexus 4 on T-Mobile I have found that I still prefer to use email for picture messaging. The logic is simple, with email you get the full sized picture that doesn't get compressed and it's easier to archive or download to my PC. I know that you might still want MMS but just some food for thought, especially if you can't get MMS working on Metro.

WiFi Tether issue

I just flashed Viper 3.1.4 after rooting, and when I turned on WiFi tether I got a message pop-up saying "What the Hell! Your phone took control of WiFi Tethering. Immediate shutdown of WiFi Tethering required" after about 20 seconds of turning it on. Does anybody know what could be causing this? I have tried 4 different versions of WiFi Tether before I installed Viper 3.1.4 and got the same message with them as well. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yet people STILL apply UPDATES! :(
I'm a noob, and I've been wondering which updates I should and should NOT do. I currently have Viper4G 3.14, and I have a few update choices under Settings:

Settings/About/Viper4G ROM Updates

Settings/System updates/Firmware update
Settings/System updates/Update profile
Settings/System updates/Update PRL

I'm assuming the 1st one is safe. But what about the other three? If they are NOT safe, why would the Venom team enable those updates on the Viper4G ROM?

Also, are there any other stuff I shouldn't do, such as updates allowed through programming codes?

Viper 4G updates should be fine because it will just updated the ROM. Profile updates are also okay although you shouldn't need to do it unless you are having Sprint connection problems (it refreshes your account info in your phone). PRL updates are also okay, this will update the roaming list in your phone. It's a list of the preferred towers to use when you're outside of a sprint network zone and are roaming.

The only thing you should never ever ever update is the firmware through that menu.

question about RUU

I'm trying to back to stock on my S-off 2.09 Hboot device.
Unfortunately, even after doing RUU, I continue to have a bootloop! (using Viperuu).
not sure what the problem is, but I'm thinking about trying a lower RUU. If I'm already S-Off, will doing a lower RUU brick my device? I know for firmware updates, doing a lower Hboot will brick your device, but what about an entire RUU on an S-OFF device?
Thanks!

AFAIK running an older RUU won't work it will give an error
As far as downgrading firmware Captain_Throwback has fixed that problem

I have updated the OP with the most current information by going through every single question and making sure it was still relevant. Some were removed and some were updated and should be future proof. In addition, the post contains only text now and has been edited to make the answers not as verbose by removing unnecessary words (such as 'awesome', apparently I love that word).

Keep on, Evo 4G LTE users!

Don't forget about Moonshine to s-off for users with 3.16.651.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321072

Maybe your missing some drivers. When I had this happen to me I removed anything HTC related from my PC and reinstalled HTC SYNC. With that installed and ADB working you should be good to go. Its worth a try anyways.
Good luck man
