Hello friends!

I would like to purchase Samsung Fascinate for wife. However I a little bit concerned about couple of details.

1. I know it has 2Gb memory. Is this enough these days? I mean other phones have way more, but is this really crucial? Do apps and their data installed in phone memory? What is average size of your collection?

2. I know it has Bing and I guess it sucks big time. Is this hackable? In my understanding Fascinate is not protected from rom flashing. But I have no idea how android integrates such stuff.

Overall what would you suggest - Fascinate or Incredible. Size really does matter in this case. I relly like Fascinate, but still hesitate to pull trigger.

I got my Fascinate today. I came from an Incredible. I must say....i absolutely love this device. In my opinion, it beats the Inc on all levels with the exception of Bing and widgets. I actually don't mind TouchWiz either. The speed and screen on this phone is awesome. 2Gb is enough, and when Froyo is available you can install all the apps to your SD card and it really won't be an issue at that point. This phone will be easily 'hackable' and you will definitely be able to install custom roms and remove Bing in the near future.

My suggestion would be to absolutely get the Fascinate over the Incredible.

2gb is more than enough. Nobody really every struggled with older Android phones that came with only 512mb of memory. In 2.1 and below, only a certain amount of data needs to be installed on the phone and the rest can be installed on the SD card. It was never really much of a issue with Android since the beginning.

Thanks for response, guys!

How about GPS? Do you have any problems with this?
It's a hit or miss with people. I just configured 8 Fascinates the same and 6 hooked up to the GPS quickly and two would not.

My personal one they gave me to help them had issues until I rebooted.

I have no use for another Phone I have too many. Now if ONLY SIM was a standard on all phones right now I would be one happy camper. I would have a different phone for each day of the week :)
