What r u guys using? I saw an article in my Google feed that listed this one, but I see some negative reviews from people using pixel 2's. It'd also be nice to get something that came with a cable, but I wouldn't say that it NOT coming with a cable is a deal breaker. Need to get one of these ordered right away, so please help.

AUKEY USB C PD Car Charger, 27W USB-C & 5V/2.4A USB Dual Port Output for Macbook, iPhone X/8/Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note8 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MWXSS8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FB1pBbK7CAE2A

I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07234DKQ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_bE2pBbY3VNZHN

It's no longer on sale but other copied versions are available for $15. I only got it because AUKEY and Anker didn't have a Power Delivery one at the time the Pixel 2 XL came out. I know the phone charge rate is limited but I wanted to "future proof" and get a type-C charger that could do higher. I also paired with with an Aukey type-C to type-C cable.

The Aukey charger you linked should be fine. I prefer these charger without an attached cable because those can possibly go bad and you can't change the cable.

I use this, as well as many other choetech chargers and cables. they were doing some outreach to users back in the n6p days and I've bought many items since as they've all worked well for me.

Great. Thanks for the alternative. I ended up just purchasing the one I asked about in the OP. If it performs poorly I'll ask for a refund from the seller and go with the one youve listed. I hope my purchase works and works well right out of the box, but I have yet to be impressed with a car charger for any phone. I'm a hopeful skeptic.

Yeah Aukey is legit and you should be fine. Keep in mind that it'll charge fastest with the screen off of course. However, I still get a good charge while using Android Auto and having navigation and music playing. It's definitely not the 0% change (sometimes still loss battery) that I had with the Nexus 5X with the screen on.

The choetech suggested as the alternative does have 100% 5 star reviews and a lot of pixel 2 xl users from what I can see. I think I should have probably went with that one, but the aukey is going to be here Monday. I'll try it and report here what I find. I noticed in the descriptions that the choetech delivers 3a. The aukey is only 2.4, but in a review someone noted that their pixel 2 xl says "charging rapidly" when plugged into the aukey's usb-c. I guess time will tell.

As someone mentioned, yes, there Verizon ones are ALWAYA solid, but they're usually.pretty expensive last I checked. I almost just went with that option, but I hate going in there and giving them my money. I try to avoid it.

Read the details again. The 2.4a is for regular USB and not USB-C Power Delivery. Both Aukey and Choetech do PD (Aukey is up to 24w and Choetech is only 18w) which includes the 9v/2a the Pixel 2 XL stock charger does. In the end that doesn't matter much because the phone is capped off below that. Also, the Aukey would be more "future proof" for devices to come if phones do go up to 24w.

I have the aukey and have been using it for about a week now with the stock little Google cord that came with the phone. I use a longer 10' Google cord (I've tried using the cheapo ebay cords and they've never lasted. That's why I'm here for the car charger cause they're the same) for the charging block in the house. That way I can still look at my phone in bed at night to set my alarm, etc. It still manages to creep there charger up while using the phone with the screen on. With the screen off I think it's about as fast as the stock wall charger. I'm not about to drain the phone and do a timed test or something though, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

I'm definitely satisfied so far. I'm glad I didn't do what I usually do and buy some eBay cheapo. Let's see if it stands the test of time though.

I don't have experience with the AUKEY charger, listed in the OP, but this one has fast / quick charged Nexus 6P, Moto Z2 Play and OG Pixel XL.
https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Samsung-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B01E764DXM

I don't have my Pixel 2 XL, yet. It arrives Saturday, but I'll try to recall to return and update this post.

ETA, this charger does fast charger the Pixel 2 XL.

ETA², must use USB-C to USB-C cable for Pixel and Nexus 6P phones to quick charge.

I've given up on car chargers. I really started traveling so much for business that I needed something that would charge my laptop too so I just started looking for a full wall outlet thinking I can just use whatever. I gave up on looking for chargers with PD and just bought a new samsung laptop type c-charger thinking it has to have enough torque and it does.

I got a cheap power line charger with two wall outputs and 2 5volt 2.4 amp USB for the goons in my family that use iPhones.

But now any wall charger I use for a Fast Charge I can just use in my car.
