Set permissions as 644 means what? I set permissions of that app just like another apps have and it don't work.

it should. at least if u r on GB. set the same permission as other apps in /system/app. reboot.
if the home selector dosen't show up, go to settings -> applications -> all tab, browse to your current launcher, scroll down and click "clear defaults". the home selector should work :

do idea. IT worked when i tried it on zues and is working flawlessly on CM7 (nightly number doesn't matter).

Then i must be doing something wrong .
I copied the dowloaded apk to /system/app, set permission like all other apk's and reboot.
Did I miss something ?

which launcher u want??stock LG??if u r on any other ROM than CM7, take a look at the following thread of mine. it has ICS styled stock LG icons and also slightly modded LG home to get the home/appdrawer ICS icon.

root explorer is permission changeable app, indeed.
just hit the "mount r/w" button on the header and then click and hold the app, scroll to "permissions/change permissions" set the permissions as
"X X o
X o o
X o o"
where X= tick & o=blank.
