Feedback from users needed about lag, usability, etc..its a gift for my wife.

Hello!
So my wife has the Note 4 (after upgrading from Note 2) and while she has a small laptop (i3) she dislikes how laggy it is. I told her to NOT get an i3 but an i5 or i7 but at the time she wanted looks first performance second. She now changed her mind.
So, she liked the Note 10.1 we saw at best buy the other day while shopping for other stuff.
I was wondering what the status is on this tablet as previous reports I read talked about lag etc.
Any real life feedback will be great using stock ROM as she does not let me hack her phone like I do with mine.

I didn't have to much lag at all. It would get laggy here and there but that's to be expected. I just put CM12 on mine now though and over the stock ROM this is so much better. Overall stock or not this is a great tablet.
