Digital Animated Gear Watchface

Dear JJW,
In my personnal opinion a digital watchface does not look so appealing,
A digital watch with a plain background looks good.
Something like this?

I like the design and idea but in reality the hour and minute indicators are hard to see because of the background graphic. I am talking about analog versions.

Thanks for the feedback! I know it is a little hard to read the analog watches so I tried to put a border around the hands. I guess that similar watches in real life are also a bit difficult to read as they have a lot of moving parts in the background. The digital version is easier to read and is inspired by the flip clocks that are often found in offices and banks.

Usually the best dials for skeleton watches are the Breguet blue dials. They can be seen because of the color.

Thanks for sharing. I'll try making one with a white background instead of the black one I've used so far.

Why not make the dials blue? Even with the screen of, I think it might be seen better. And yes with white background between the wheels.

Not sure that blue suits it very well. I think that due to the screen resolution and colour depth that there's not a great deal that can be done. I'll play around with different coloured hands to see what looks best.

they`re all great ideas, but since they`re meant for a smartwatch, why not making them 5x4 lines, so to leave the last line free for notifications?

Unfortunately I haven't had any luck being able to resize the watchfaces as it causes the watch to keep resetting. I'll give it another shot next weekend.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try making a Roman numeral based watchface next weekend.

You can make a watchface that has the design of that Breguet but to fit the SW2 screen. And instead of the turbillon, you can put the seconds indicator.
