Finally found the perfect case + TGSP combo

Since I initially purchased my OnePlus 6 at launch, I've gone through a few different screen protectors and cases, including the OEM Nylon Bumper Case. While the Nylon Bumper Case was my previous favorite, I'm finding that the Spigen Rugged Armor case, paired with the Orzly TGSP, is absolutely perfect. The overall size of the Spigen case is almost identical to the OEM Nylon Bumper, so it isn't adding any more noticeable bulk. The added bonus is that the Spigen case hugs the top, bottom and sides of the Orzly protector with no gaps anywhere. There was a bit of a gap between the Orzly protector and the Nylon Bumper Case.

In addition, the buttons on the Spigen case are just as 'clicky' as the OEM Nylon Bumper Case while providing just a tad more of a gap between the back camera and the outside of the case, thus providing a little more protection for the back camera.

Overall, I am extremely happy and would highly recommend this combo. Admittedly, my previous Orzly screen protector was installed slightly off center, causing it to lift when the Spigen case was installed. However, I uninstalled that protector, cleaned the screen and re-installed my spare Orzly protector with the Spigen case installed, for perfect guidance. The end result is even better than I expected.

Anyway, on to pics...

I like the Orzly TGSP and The Spigen case combo very much. It looks clean and provides a very good protection for your phone but I also know that the Rugged Armor Spigen case is not compatible with most of the TGSP available on the market (the ones providing Edge2Edge protection). Does your SP pop up when you press very hard on the case edges ?

Yep. As yldlj said, it cuts off a very tiny portion of the left and right sides. In normal usage you'd never notice it though. Other than in Fastboot, I haven't found a single app that pushes text far enough out that the TGSP border cuts it off.

I can confirm that it cuts off the very far edge of text while in Fastboot mode. This is the only time I've ever noticed it actually cutting anything off. But that's mainly because the text in Fastboot goes way to far to the screen edges and doesn't wrap- around to the next line where it should.
It cuts off bottom corners too. In playing pubg the right bottom corner where it shows the mode you are playing is cut off.

Thanks for providing this info mate. That combo looks perfect.

I have the spigen rugged armour and recently also purchased the orzly tempered glass screen protector. I am contemplating on whether to remove the preinstalled screen protector now and install orzly or wait for a couple of months till the preinstalled one is heavily scratched up. Two things holding me back from using the orzly are that it would be incompatible with the spigen rugged armour and the amount of screen blocked by black borders.

If possible could you please post some pics of your combo with screen on in a few apps so we can have a look at how much the black borders overlap the screen?

I got mine yesterday and was unsuccessful in installing mine. The edges keep coming up and it's impossible to make this sit flat on the screen. I also used the case as a guide and it's impossible. I also have the same spigen case. Oh well, back to the films I suppose

I didn't have any problems with mine. First application was slight off centre so I took it off and reapplied without any issues at all.

Thanks for the link. Very helpful. I am not sure how the notch cutout will affect me.
One question though. Did you apply the Ozly TGSP with the Spigen case on?

I guess I'll hold for a couple of weeks before deciding to remove the preinstalled screen protector and moving to tempered glass.
I did apply the tgsp with the Spigen case on. I initially didn't but had to reposition the tgsp to stop it from touching the case. Otherwise the edges of the tgsp will lift when pressure is applied to the case.

I applied the Orzly TGSP. It required a bit of adjusting and I had to remove and reapply several times even with the spigen case case on. This combo looks great and even though there is a 0.5mm cutoff throughout the screen it does not cut off any meaningful area and it is not that bad.

And since I aligned it using the Spigen case, all my other cases (UAG, Tudia Merge and Official Red Silicone case) also fit perfectly without any lift off of the TGSP.
