I hardly managed to fix the browser issue and the force close (im not a developer at all ) , now this arabic patch is compatible with 1.84 based roms

i tested it with android revolution HD 3.1 and its working (with additional mods installed) , no more powernotificationmod errors and device hang boot ups.

hope it helps.

cheers

P.S. flash it with clockworkmod 3.x.x only .
Not morking for me.

This doesn't work. The stock browser still force closes. I'm running the HTC Desire HD A9192 from Telus.

Rooted, S-OFF, etc.

I have a rather weird question. My friend has a Desire HD with proper arabic letters...he did a nandroid backup...is there a way for me to "create" the .zip from the files in his backup?

Hi bro....
Thanks a lot for your invaluable efforts... I've flashed your zip file with CWM and it went OK! But, still the letters are disconnected (I'm using Coredroid DHD v.1.7 on HD2 based on DHD 1.84)
ANY SUGGESTIONS???
Thanks in advance...

I have tried the arabic fonts provided above. I have written the instructions for installing the arabic fonts below.

    1. Download the arabic font file from: http://www.mediafire.com/?tkivk1c2izdh485
    2. Copy it to your MicroSD card in your Desire HD
    3. Reboot into ClockworkMod recovery
    4. 'Install zip from sdcard'
    5. 'Choose zip from sdcard'
    6. Navigate to where you copied the arabic font file, and select it
    7. When asked to install, go to 'Yes - Install...'
    7. Once installed, choose 'reboot system now'
    8. First bootup after installing arabic can take upto 2 minutes with black screen, after that every bootup is normal
    9. You can now read and write arabic correctly, with joined letters

    WHAT IS NOT WORKING:
So far, internet browser gives me a force close error.

    WHAT IS WORKING
Can write arabic correctly with joined letters, using 'Ibrahim Keyboard'

Thanks to adam7 for telling us about the file

NOTE: This is NOT the arabic fonts made by ardroid.com, the arabic fonts I have provided you here with was made by someone else. Do not post on ardroid.com asking for support, they are still working on their version of the arabic fonts which may work better / not give the internet browser force close error like I get.

For 1.72 use the following Arabic File:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?17lxbcwm7o7p3eq

    It will:
    - Connected Arabic letters
    - No RTL issue with Ardoid App from Applanet
    - No Internet Browser Force Close
    - Very nice Almuhannad Font

    Enjoy it :)

If you go to the above link, scroll right to the bottom and you will see that someone has mentioned that they will soon release an update for Android 2.21 .

So we just have to sit tight and wait for the Arabic update.

In the mean time, you can stick with Android 2.2 and have the Arabic fonts, or you can install a program called 'Mirsal' which allows you to read and write SMS text messages. Although I do not know if it will work with Android 2.21.

Note that 'Mirsal' doesn't need root access or arabic fonts installed to work.
