Hi there,
I got an Nook HD+ and I want to install a CM, because the stock is too slow.

I decided for the CM11 Nightly, because I anyway only use it to watch movies and read comics.

I followed this instruction here from digixmax:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49192422&postcount=1

I followed all the steps, did a couple of mistakes, had to go back and so forth.
But I finally got a matching CMW and CM from a backup from digixmax:
I used that CMW:
emmc-cwm-early3.1.img.gz
And that CM:
cm-11-20160815-NIGHTLY-ovation.zip

It always get stuck at the point when installing the CM.

It starts to install the cm11, runs a while and then aborts with the same message as above:
E: Can't open /external........zip
(bad)
Installation aborted

I also tried the CM:
cm-11-20160612-NIGHTLY-ovation.zip
cm-11-20151122-NIGHTLY-ovation.zip

Same result, although one of them takes longer till the error appears.

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Thanks a lot.
I really want to get my HD+ running, as I don't want to throw it away.
Matt

Hi there,
I got an Nook HD+ and I want to install a CM, because the stock is too slow.
When I finally convinced my husband to take the plunge from stock to CM 11 for his HD, I followed these instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42406126&postcount=7 (also includes HD+)

As for the ROM, I chose the snapshot linked from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71448418&postcount=2247 (also includes HD+).

Although my only other ROM flashing experience was with my Nook Tablet, I had no problem with the instructions or ROMs I have referenced. We have since moved on to CM 12.1 (ROM by @amaces) following these instructions: https://liliputing.com/2015/09/how-to-install-android-5-1-on-a-nook-hd-or-nook-hd.html

Again, no problems (at least not until later but maybe a hardware issue, I don't know....). The CM 12.1 ROM can be found in the "obsolete" folder here: https://notredame.app.box.com/s/26a4bygh9vbaw7jjq08xr5evomvaw5ww, should be cm-12.1-20151018-UNOFFICIAL-ovation.zip, somewhere on page 6 of the obsolete folder display.

I am a little ashamed.
I tried so many things and got on the nerves of digixmax.

I tried it again and again it did not work.

I changed SD card and the first attempt worked.
That means the SD card was the problem.
I currently is loading into CM11.

Thanks a lot everyone for their help!
