vzw is shortform for verizon. wlv is product code for verizon.
Another example spr for sprint but product code is whl

I suggested a GSM based ROM with support for Verizon. You can find some of them in M8 development section as your concern is the hotspot. I don't know installing a Vzw based ROM will cater your need.

Briefly going thru Vzw forum, I see only this a GSM rom with verizon support

https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...t/rom-nusenseven-marshmallow-sense-7-t3266678

Maybe there are others not so sure.

For testing purpose only maybe you can try this ROM. I used it before so I know there is Verizon support.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/rom-sense-6-12-401-4-mra58k-stock-t3296066

Install and select verizon in installer. Test for hotspot.
Later you can try others in M8 gsm section - https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development

Most important, never flash any firmware other than verizon.
can you please help me to find correct ruu

I see the official HTC download link for RUU 4.20.531.4 is broken, as posted here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714456

You can get the Marshmallow RUU 6.20.531.5 from here (download link near the bottom of page): http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-t-mobile/news/

However, you will need to flash the 6.20.531.5 firmware.zip before you can install the RUU. There is a peculiar requirement for Marshmallow (MM) RUUs for US versions of the M8, where you need to flash the MM firmware, before the MM RUU will install. Otherwise, the RUU will fail with Error 155.

You can get the firmware 6.20.531.5, as well as instructions on how to flash (near the bottom of the post): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60218734&postcount=5

So the general steps will be: relock bootloader, flash firmware 6.20.531.5, then flash RUU 6.20.531.5

Keep in mind that RUU will wipe the phone, so plan ahead accordingly and backup any data you want to keep (SD card, cloud, computer).

Do you know this thread is for htc m8 ?
For Htc one X you should check here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x/help

Anyway .. to answer your question, you can get your RUU for free here .. the last one in the list.

PJ46IMG_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_50_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_4.19.707.5_Radio_5.1204.167.31_release_392884_combined_signed.zip

Any further question, ask in correct section.

Are you looking for Sense or GPE RUU?

The info in your getvar is contradicting itself (phone is obviously modified) as it gives version-main and MID for Asia version (corresponding to CIDs HTC__044 & HTC__059), but CID for GPE version.

Yeah I have edited the cid number. Do I have to revert it back? I am looking for the sense rom btw. Thanks. :fingers-crossed:
It's asia version(044)

Thank you very much

Yes, you need to change the CID back to run the corresponding RUU (Asia Sense version).

I found a link for the Lollipop RUU here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67884320&postcount=2

How do you expect us to help you find the right RUU, if you don't give us any details about your device?

Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

Also you should list (version number, file name) of the RUUs you tried so far. And are they exe or zip format?

I see this if your first post. So just some advice on how to ask for help effectively, so we can provide proper help: do NOT ask for help by just posting 1 or 2 sentences. This is never going to be enough info for us to help you. It just causes us to ask you for the info, that you should have provided in the first place.

Give as much detail as possible. Include the file names, version numbers of the files you tried. What methods you tried, with specific error messages, outcomes, etc.
