I create this post to talk about the Downgrade!

Failed way:
Hi there!

I think I've found a way to downgrade it, but I need someone to test, since I don't want to lock my phone.

So let's go...
- Root your phone and install Defy 2ndInit 2.0, BootMenu 1.0.7 (Latest Version).
- Download the following file: http://ul.to/kalqzsn2
- Extract the folder "backtofroyo" inside your "clockworkmod/backup" folder.
- Boot into CWM and perform a full wipe.
- Then choose Advanced Restore, select the backup of the Froyo Rom you want back, and select Restore system. (You may also restore your data partition if you want)
- Now, also inside Advanced Restore, choose "backtofroyo" and restore recovery and boot too.
- Once it's done reboot your pressing VolUP so that you enter programming mode.
- Open RSDLite and flash the Fixed SBF inside the file you've downloaded, named backtofroyo.sbf.

If everything goes well you should reboot into Froyo; at least the very same idea worked for me to go back from Froyo to Eclair. Hope it helps! :)

WORKING WAY!
i find one solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20140187&postcount=183

well for install the cm9 dont make wipe just install the zip and the gasp..reboot and after Remove the battery and reboot in recovery and then chiose stable recovery and apply full wipe and wipedalvik

If we make a wipe before it shows error messages and in the boot we fall again on the bootloader

HELP US! PLEASE :(

Everyone has been warned about flashing a GB Full .sbf and there was a possible way, restoring by nandroid back up. The thread about 2.3.6 also warned about the new kernel and bootloader it has.. did you all tried to download a full custom rom based in 2.2 froyo ? Re-install 2nd init and try to restore the backup with out wiping and before change the name of the backup folder to any you want.

It's impossible bacause the key to sign kernal has been changed.
Old kernals perform like 3rd-party custom kernal on those defy+ whose BL=6
maybe u need to find a way out to let froyo work on 2.3.6 kernals

Won't work for sure. Try my nandroid backup and fixed sbf. http://ul.to/kalqzsn2
Thank you I inform you if it works

Only using nandroid backups.
But someone needs to test the second try. Where is fersago now?
I think that he makes a grave depression:(

The only way to come back I think the developers should make a ROM over 2.3.6 kernel!:(

edit from danimagrin.....Try with me if you want:rolleyes:
Please download it again and test!
I've done some corrections to the md5 file, due to problems caused by the difference between Unix/Windows end-of-line. I've restored it myself and it's working now. Let's see if you can go back to Froyo!

PS: Please don't forget you also need to restore the system partition of the Froyo rom you want, using nandroid in Advanced Restore/Restore System
