This may be silly. But sometimes finger print will say "press harder" Over time pressing in same spot over and over, could it possibly cause issues on the display?

Installed Whitestone Dome and ran into some issues with my FP reader too. I have removed and re-registered several times. But I THINK I finally have it fixed.

I removed all my fingerprints. Then I turned the screen sensitivity OFF. I re-registered my fingerprints. Did it a few times until I could get it to recognize my prints Everytime with the "check fingerprints" test.

Once I was satisfied with my fingerprint registery, I THEN turned the screen sensitivity back on.

I just figured if my prints were fairly accurate with the sensitivity off, then it would be more accurate when I turned it back on.

Maybe it's just placebo. Maybe I finally got them registered just perfect. Or maybe it really did help to turn the sensitivity back up AFTER registering them. Who knows, but I'm happy now.

I don't think so because the note 9 had the physical home screen button under the screen, pressure sensitive. I used it all the time. I tend to use less pressure line half for the reader.

My satisfaction is @ 100% now after peeling off the screen protection. For good. Once in a while the sensor wouldn't respond to index fingerprint for 2 -3 attempts in the row, though both thumbs were perfect. I think skin dryness might be the factor preventing accurate fingerprint scan off plastic film where glass alone helps the finger making better contact with its surface. And it is now 10 for 10 for my index finger too. As for the screen protector - I'm fine w/o.

No issues here. Registered both thumbs twice. The only issue I'll have is when my thumb is super dry and covered in dust or plaster or something like that.

Mine works great. My S10 plus sucked so bad I got rid of it. Very happy with Note 10+. I was nervous mine would be a dud. My daughter's Note 10 works great with her little thumbs. I think it's a roll of the dice if you get a good one or a dud.

Fingerprint scanner works with ultrasound, how could turning on the screen sensitivity could possibly helps?
This.

The sensitivity relates to the digitizer's sensitivity to magnetic fields. Definitely wouldn't make the difference on the fingerprint sensor.

If you all are referring to my post, I'm sure you're right. You're probably smarter and more knowledgeable than me. Maybe it didn't make a difference at all. All I know is it SEEMS to work better. What else do I care about?

I'm not impressed, unfortunately.
I ended up adding three (!) entries for the same thumb and it now works almost every time. 4 out of 5 times, maybe. Still doesn't work often enough to be annoying.
It's not really ready for production, methinks.

Face unlock never ever works so I am basically relying on Smart Lock... Double-tap screen to wake up and let Smart Lock unlock the phone...
It's feels like a toy compared to my "old" S9+ which was fantastic in this regard (FP/iris).

EDIT: I have rather large fingers, could this be a factor? (Unless I hit the reader just right)? Not really dry fingers and the FP readers have worked perfectly on every phone I've had the past 5 years - except the N10+...

I haven't had too many issues other than my own finger placement and I'm using the factory screen protector. I have more clammy than dry hands myself so that may help some but I'vee actually gotten more accustomed to the face unlock. I haven't been wearing sun glasses so I can't speak on that quality but it's usually already unlocking my device while I'm still trying to remember that the finger print scanner is on the front.

Mine work flawlessly. I think its failed once in the hundreds of times Ive done it over this past week. I wonder if the people having issues are not doing the initial fingerprint storage right?

Mine was fast with stock screen protector. I put on whitestone dome and it tells you to crank up the sensitivity. It helps but still not as good as stock protector but that is expected.

I'm fairly satisfied with how it works. I don't have to press down, just a light touch. It recognizes my fingers in every direction, upright, from the side or upside down. I used the amFilm tempered glass screen protector and registered my fingers three times making sure to adjust positions each time. My only gripe is that it is so slow compared to the Note 9 fingerprint sensor. I hope once I unlock developer options maybe that will make a difference due to transition speed?
