Got the update and I'm loving it. Never had issues with the scanner before, but now it's so much faster.

Now if only they'd do something about the Tab S6 fingerprint scanner, I have so many mismatches on it that I turned on face unlock and registered the same fingerprint twice (once for portrait and other for landscape).

Received also on Verizon. Actually 2 updates today. The fingerprint and the October security patch..

The fingerprint works much, much faster and reliably now

Got it this morning as well. You know, didnt have issues with it before but now after seeing the comments I have noticed it's a bit faster, smoother. Havent deleted or re-installed my prints since I had recently updated them sometime last week or earlier this week.

i like how it says they recommend u dont use a screen cover lol.
Screen covers aren't really needed anymore imo unless you work around bad debris like a construction site, beach, farming, etc. I eventually gave up using one on my Note 9 after trying a few and them all being junk, screen still looks mint. And now with the in-screen scanner the protectors really need to take that into account when being made. My 10+ is rocking the thin excuse of a protector that was on it in the box. It gets messed up, doubt I'll replace it since the device suffers from the curved edges that plagues glass protectors that I prefer. The protectors for these devices basically need to have absolutely zero imperfections between the screen and top of the protector, and I just don't think companies are taking the time to perfect that. I mean Samsung has been using curved edges for how many generations now... companies need to get their act together. Samsung needs to offer an official glass one as well as the plastic ones. And going with a cheap thing like the people in the UK did that caused this media backlash have only themselves to blame. Never skimp on your device protection, especially when devices are commanding the prices they are today. My 2 cents.

For the same price, or even less (£3 - £5 on Ebay) those folks could have got a 'LOCA glue' and glass solution, which provides the best screen protection imho, with zero impact on screen functionality or performance.

When applied correctly, they're indistinguishable from the native screen.

My concern for my screen isn't scratching, but rather accidental knocks and drops. No need to spend the big bucks on 'Whitestone' or 'Amfilm' for the same level of protection.
