Fingerprint scanner doesn't work after updating firmware

OK so my whole issue started when I rooted the phone and unlocked the bootloader. I knew my phone shipped with the lollipop firmware but didn't know there was marshmallow firmware available. I wiped the whole stock ROM in twrp without updating to the latest EMUI or backing it up. Dumb decision on my part because I basically soft bricked the device and couldn't flash any ROMs because it was stuck on lollipop firmware.

To sum it up, I found the official MM firmware on huawei's site, used a windows program to extract the .IMG files and manually updated the firmware through fastboot. I thought I flashed everything needed, because the moment I flashed resurrection remix MM, it booted up properly and everything worked fine. But now I just figured out the fingerprint scanner doesn't work for some reason. I'm wondering if anyone knows what firmware file is for the fingerprint scanner hardware? Knowing that and flashing the file through fastboot might fix the problem but I'm not sure..

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks I forgot to update this post, it turned out to actually be ressurection remix that was the problem. The latest version of that ROM doesn't work with the fingerprint scanner. I flashed the aosp CAF marshmallow rom and the scanner works great now. Its weird though cause I reported this on the RR rom's thread, and people said it worked for them.

Edit: tested with another huawei honor 5x, but this time I properly updated MIUI to the latest MM firmware before wiping the stock rom. I then flashed RR again on this new phone, and came up with the same problem. So it has to be the ROM itself.
