Same here after the V10e update for the LG G7 EAW. It works only sometimes, now stopped working at all. Hardware diagnostics says that I should take my phone to a customer service center...

Any way to downgrade?

Same for me for indonesia firmware. I switched to Hongkong firmware and it rarery happens. Anyway the latest firmware (1 Nov) for india has come out so you should not have to worry.

This has been gapping for a while on my G7 but now, after the latest one v10O (Tim branded Italy) with the November patch, the fingerprint sensor has become unresponsive to an unacceptable degree. Has anyone else experienced this problem and find a solution?

I updated mine to V10p via LG UP, and started having this issue, tried almost everything I found on the net (clearing the fingerprints, reset the phone, nothing worked), I had to search for the V10q update and the issue has reduced however it happens occassionaly, never had this problem before the 10p update.

By the way, my model is LMG710EM

Im also having Lg G7+ ThinQ and had same problem with fingerprint sensor. I Dm LG US via twitter and they told me to clear the security credentials from Settings>Lockscreen>Encryption & credentials>Clear credentials and then reboot your phone.

I tried doing that and now the phone doesn't even allow me to add new fingerprints because it says that there's an error.

If that's the case then, let's try testing the unit with the Safe Mode active. Activating Safe Mode will result for the unit to hide all of your downloaded apps for the meantime for us to test the software of the unit. To do this, just kindly follow the instructions provided below.

1. Press and hold the Power button until Phone options is displayed then release.
2. Select and hold Power off until 'Restart in safe mode' is displayed.
3. From the Reboot to safe mode prompt, tap TURN ON.
Note This restart process may take up to one minute to complete.
Note Upon restart, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower left of the unlock/Home screen.
4. With Safe Mode enabled, test device and see if the issue is resolved or not.

Have the same issue.
It started some weeks ago after the Android 10 Update I think.

First it was only not working sometimes.
I could get the fingerprint reader to work after I turned the display on by either double tapping or using the on/off switch.

But now it's not working anymore at all.
And when I try to put in new Fingerprints it straight up tells me, that the finger print sensor is not working and I should contact support.

WTF?!
