Fire TV Stick 4K (mantis) Prerooted Stock Images [6.2.8.1_r3]

@rbox , Despite the warning, I installed this stock image as is from TWRP, then mounted /system, removed efuse.sh and ewriter from /system/bin, reinstalled Magisk, then rebooted. Is this procedure safe from blowing the efuse? Is there an easy way to test using ewriter? I was coming from the @rbox -prepared most current prerooted image. @Skel40, @Sus_i @SweenWolf, @Pretoriano80 @k4y0z what do you think?

I'm not taking this as a criticism as I forgot to mention this from my post. It burns after rebooting. You don't need to unlock if you don't want to. I'm not telling you that you need to unlock again which is my fault on my part. And yes it does make sense what you're saying.

Can anyone provide the mantis pre-rooted for OS version 6.2.7.6? I got a new OLED tv and I heard Amazon broke audio codecs since the 6.2.7.7 (which is the one I got on my stick) and since then the audio is transcoded and not correctly passthrough.

I feel so stupid. I blocked the Amazon update urls in my dnsmasq config and completely forgot.

So I assume that I could invoke the exploit (mtk_phone mode) if I had to. Also I continue to block updates most of the time, unless I'm checking for system components/os updates.

First ewriter needs to be copied to an executable directory, with appropriate permissions, then execute as I showed above- ewriter 0 0 1. You need root so shell into terminal, su to root, or run it from twrp recovery with both /system and /vendor mounted.

Nope, I guess. Without root back then, there was no way to force the stick to pull a full update.

i disabled all amazon services that dont break any essential functions. now i have some blank rows in my homescreen where usually would be some ads. any recommendation for a nice permanent launcher replacement? google tv would be awesome

Here's my downgraded roms with OTA patches to completely remove software updates from updating if you want to update which is found here:

Fire TV Stick 4K (mantis) Downgraded ROMS 6.2.8.0-3233/6.2.7.7-3033/6.2.7.6-2933/6.2.7.1-2493/6.2.6.8-2315

The downgraded, tz fixed 6.2.8.0-3233/6.2.7.7-3033/6.2.7.6-2933/6.2.7.1-2493/6.2.6.8-2315 have been re-edited with this older rom. It's rooted and has a fully removed OTA patch so no more worrying about your 4K auto updating to the latest efuse...
