If you followed the unbrick guide from rbox, you should still have a working bootmenu and twrp!?
If yes, download 5.2.7.2 or -.3 from the OP,
adb push it to /sdcard (or use an usb stick) and then install the zip with twrp.

I updated successfully and all goes fine, but when i was watching a tv show on prime video, suddenly it reboots...
It spends 10 minutes on boot. Optimizing storage and system apps... And then reboots again.
What Im doing wrong?

I tried to install latest rom again but again I enter in a bootloop.
I have twrp. Any chance?
Thx in advance.

Sounds like a power issue, maybe check the power cable for damages.
If you have an USB power brick and an A-to-A cable, you could try to 'add' some power to the box via the USB A port, just to see if that helps somehow...
If it helps, your power brick is maybe too weak for a stable operation.

If I revert to previous version (bueller-5.0.5-rooted_r2). Then it works :(
Its very strange.

Edit: I plug an usb with power, but nothing...

Edit2: I can reproduce these steps:
1.Go to TWRP
2.Install and boot normally bueller-5.0.5-rooted_r2
3.Go to TWRP
4.Install 5.2.7.3 and change build.prop version on TWRP
5.Reboot. It boot ok. I can see a tv show for a while. Then it suddenly reboots.
6.Bootloop until I power off - power on and enter on TWRP.

What Im doing wrong?
I dont know if I have unlocked bootloader or not.
Can I wipe?

Yeah, why not :)
Wipe cache and dalvik.
You can wipe data too, but then the setup/logon will wait for you at the reboot.
If you wipe data too, you should edit the build.prop in order to block updates, or root is probably gone...

IDK if it helps you, but its good if you enable adb debugging, call su in adb shell, allow su access for shell on TV, then block updates with:
Code:
pm disable com.amazon.device.software.ota
pm disable com.amazon.device.software.ota.override
pm disable com.amazon.tv.forcedotaupdater.v2

PS: The bootloader is locked (due the unbrick), but that doesn't matter, it's still rooted and twrp is there.

I follow steps again. Only step that I dont realize was wipe data. It has working perfectly for 45 minutes aprox. Then it suddenly reboots and now is in bootloop :'(

I run into a similar problem. I was on 5.2.7.0 and tried to update to 5.2.7.3
Now the box is in bootloop. I've done wipe data too without any change.
When I power up (cold boot) I see this order of logos:
-White amazon
-Colored animated amazon fire tv
-White amazon
-The twrp boot screen
and back again from the beginning.

If I leave it to reboot several times, I see a "optimising system storage and applications" that takes several minutes to complete. But after that I still get the boot loop.
I have tried to load 5.2.7.0 and 5.2.7.2 but got into the same loop. So box now is unusable.

Edit : the problem was the power supply.

If you like, you can try a clean install:
Make sure you have the latest prerooted installed, then go to twrp wipe and wipe cache and dalvik, then go back to wipe section and press the 'format data' button, type yes. Reboot.
In case it wont help, I guess it's a hardware issue.

A clean install should fix your box...
Boot TWRP, install 5.2.7.3, then go to twrp wipe and wipe cache and dalvik, then go back to wipe section and press the 'format data' button, type yes. Reboot (to the setup/logon screen).

I don't know if there is a new full update, last time I checked 5.2.7.3 was the latest...
I didn't like it (for an unknown reason, you cannot see anymore what **** you've already played with prime) and since then my two FTV1 are back on 5.2.7.2, running fine.

This will stop the updater:
Code:
adb shell
su
pm disable com.amazon.device.software.ota
pm disable com.amazon.device.software.ota.override
pm disable com.amazon.tv.forcedotaupdater.v2
pm clear com.amazon.device.software.ota
exit
exit

Latest firmware via amazon (1st Generation): Fire OS 5.2.7.4 (656638920)

Apps I've noticed so far = ESPN, NBC and Thursday Night Football schedule on Prime Video throws this system update error

Ok, if you like these apps, maybe annoy @rbox a bit... :p
maybe he has some time to make a new prerooted^^

I'll try to catch the url for the update (but IDK if the update is out for my country).

Really appreciate it. I'll probably just end up buying a 4K cube, I've certainly got my money out of this device. Thanks @rbox

Really? The problem was the power supply? How did you test it? Maybe is my issue too. Thx!

Well, I tired all combinations of update / wipe I could think of and before giving up I did try another power supply. It booted right away!
Because I had wiped everything it wanted the full installation - the problem is that right now there is new update (5.2.7.4) and the box refused to let me bypass the update. I tried the "ethernet cable pull" and the router block method (fritz box 7590) but it was always complaining there is no internet connection. So I did the build.prop trick (through TWRP) and moved on.
Also after sideloading Kodi, I had to clear cache and data of the amazon store app, to get the kodi icon to show on main screen.
Another thing I noticed is that netflix app requires IP addresses to work properly. Fritzbox filter blocks direct access to IP addresses so I had to exclude the fire tv box from the filter.
Pity the remote control is falling apart and became sticky - replacement is not worth the price they are asking - so the box will need a replacement soon.

Thx! Thousands of thx Sus_i.
I follow your steps, also formating data and now is working like a charm. No isses for now.
I Installed 5.2.7.2_r1 version.
Some apps notificates to update. Can I update them?

Thx again. You revive my aftv. Only one thing I miss on this aftv, a chromecast function.

Best regards,

Thats nice to hear :good:

Yes, app updates are working fine :good:

If you hold the home button for a few seconds, there is a button for a screen casting function, I guess miracast based.
Though I haven't got it to work on the fireTV... idk why,
but the same casting button works fine (for me) with the fireStick-gen2 and the 4k stick.
