Firmware 17.1.1.A.0.402 is out for Wifi tablet in Germany

Something I noticed: the display brightness when set to auto, now takes the brightness slider position into effect, so you can choose how much the screen will dim or brighten relative to environment light. Before, the brightness slider had no effect in auto brightness mode.

It already does so on my sgp511 with 17.1.A.2.36

I didn't on mine; when I moved the slider with auto-brightness on, I saw the brightness change, but as soon as I took my finger off of the slider, the brightness changed back to what it already was.

I does tone down a bit again, but there still remain a difference on the light level depending on how you set the slider. The new rom version might have different adjustment for this functionality.

I'm very sure the auto-brightness behaved differently on mine with 17.1.A.2.36. Maybe you have the LTE version? That one had a newer firmware than the wi-fi version did, prior to 17.1.1.A.0.402. Because I remember very well that after moving the brightness slider with auto on, the actual brightness just jumped back to what was before changing the slider. The slider itself would stay where I set it, but the brightness would change back.

Just arrived in Italy too.
First impression, better touch sensibility, I also tried the wacom stylus... Still not perfect, but I don't have to stab the screen to draw a line.

I also just received it for LTE in the UK. Its updated and I think the touch response could actually be better. For example I usually need a few tries to get the unlock pattern to work but now it works first time. Still I need more time to test before I can say its fixed.

I cant see anything else new yet. A change log would certainly be nice. Great that Sony are active with updates though! This is the happiest Ive been with any Android device.

Can someone post Customization Nr. for Z2 Tablet LTE pls? UK or Austria would be nice.

Try that "Sony PC Companion" software. My Z2 didn't tell me of any updates, but that "Companion" did.

Me again^^

So after I Flashed Global FW back to Vodafon .36, I recieved Notification about Update .402. Now I've got:
-Branding: Vodafone Germany
-Custom Nr. 1281-8836

Always changed Custom ID to generic DE. Hope i get now the German FW .402.
when i get the right FW I'll upload...:angel:

i need a little help.

I can't update my Wifi Z2.
If I download the update directly on the device I get a "could not verify message".

PC Companion on Windows 8.1 won't connect to the tablet.

It connected on my mac but still would not install the update. (I don't have the mac with me now and I forgot what the exact message was)

The flashtool Emma "sees" the tablet but everything is grayed out with a message "No available services matched the connected device".

My bootloader is unlocked, I wiped the tablet completely to no avail.


Anyone got the same problem? Any ideas?

Still no signn of the update in the US. I have a tablet I bought direct from Sony Mobile. How do I tell what country it is setup for? (ie Hongkong, Germany, or US etc) Is there a menu item or special keyboard code you can type to see it? (SPG512)

I got the update through the Sony update services on the computer, never saw a notification for an OTA though. It also shows the update with the Sony pc companion program as well, but if you are on Windows 8 and up I don't think it works.

I have tried connecting to my Mac and it says it's up to date. I also tried it on my friends Windows 7 PC this weekend and it said the same thing.
