Firmware Emui 10/9.1 for L29/AL00 Dload Method

Hi all,
Please help me as i am new am i never done this before to change the firmware.I bought my Huawei Mate 20x in China in december 2018 and is the chinese version bu i need the uK /international version.
This are the details of the phone:
MODEL:EVR-AL00
BUILD NUMBER:10.0.0.200
EMUI V:10.0.0

My question is where i can find the latest firmware international version. and the how to guides to download please.

you can’t easily flash the international firmware to the China version!

I have downloaded the C636 10.0.0.180 Package and copied entire 'dload' folder, with the 3 zipped files in it, to NM Card Root Directory but cannot get update to work. The phone see's the package and restarts, then I get an Error Screen and the phone has to be rebooted via on screen button. Is there any way to check that file and verify it's contents?

Yor Cust is HW/EU but the Bootloaderversion is C636 this is the Issue.
C636 is Asia/Parcific and not EU.
HW/EU is C432
Firmware, Bootloader and cust must be the same,in your case C636
You need the Firmware EVR-L29 9.1.0.353(C636)

You cannot upgrade from Emui 9 to Emui 10.
Upgrad from Emui 9.0 to 9.1 and then to Emui 10
But I cannot guarantee that it will work.
It can also go wrong and the Phone does not start.
So be careful!

have you tried via Hi Care / Support app oder HiSuite?
The app must be up to date!

I have, but it does not work for me here in USA. I can't even register for it/sign in. I've even tried setting to Denmark as suggested by someone else and connect using a VPN for 48 hours, and still could not get an it's download. I'll try the 9.0-9.1-10.0 jump, see if that works.

Mate 20 Pro rebrand

hi all,

I have Mate 20 Pro (LYA-L09 (C432)) on 10.0.0.180 but running the L29 version since christmas. I want to rebrand back to L09 so I downloaded L09 (432) 10.0.0.220 and added the dload folder to exFat USBC drive and followed the dload method here.

However, it goes to restart and gets stuck on 0% verifying update and after 10 or so mins fails and just restarts.

Am I doing something wrong?

you can't rebrand it easily,wrong firmware can kill the device with dload Method!!!
Furthermore, there is no difference between L09 and L29 except L09 is Singlesim and L29 Dualsim

I'm on 9.0 as well, does your phone match up with mine, see details below. When you tried to upgrade to 9.1:

• Did you do the "Normal Upgrade" method or the "Force Upgrade" method?
• Did it fail going to EMUI 9.1 or to 10?
• Which L29 C636 9.1.0.3## version did you use (there are 3, see below)?
• Were there any issues after the failure?
• Did it soft brick your phone, how did you undo that?

I want to try this too but I'm worried I'm going to brick my phone.

Everyone,
So, considering my Model, Build, etc. info above, which version do I start with? Does it matter?

Emui 9.1 - C636

• L29 C636 9.1.0.347
• L29 C636 9.1.0.320
• L29 C636 9.1.0.310

If and when I'm successful updating to 9.1, I then need to do the same process but using the EMUI 10 C636 file?:

Emui 10 - C636

• L29 C636 10.0.0.180 - Is this the latest stable version or a beta?

Do either of these Upgrade methods wipe your phone? Obviously, back up either way but just curious.

Normal Upgrade

"1. Download Update Package and Unzip it."

• 
  Download L29 C636 9.1.0.3##.
  (If it upgrades successfully, repeat steps with L29 C636 10.0.0.180.)

"2. Copy the dload folder to the root directory of the Memory Card or OTG Stick or Adapter C to A with USB Stick."

• This is a little different than what is suggested but it should work, right? "SanDisk 64GB Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C Flash Drive".
• Does it have to be formatted a certain way, NTFS, exfat, fat32, etc...

I have no questions for Steps 3 - 5


Force Upgrade

• Is this the same as step 1 of the Normal Upgrade except you do NOT unzip it?

I have no questions for steps 2-5 either.

Instructions for the dload Method

You need NM Card or OTG Stick Typ C
or Adapter Cable Typ C to USB A and USB Stick
At least 30% Battery Level!


Normal Upgrade

1. Download Update Package and Unzip it.

2. Copy the dload folder to the root directory of the Memory Card or OTG Stick or Adapter C to A with USB Stick.

3. Launch Phone Dialer app and dial *#*#2846579#*#* > ProjectMenu > Software Upgrade > SDCard Upgrade > OK.

4. Now the installation Process starts on your Device.

5. Once done, the Phone automatically restarts into latest Stock Firmware.




Force Upgrade

1. Copy the dload folder to the root directory of the Memory Card,OTG Stick or Adapter C to A with USB Stick.

2. Turn off your Phone.

3. Next, you need to press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously for 6-8 seconds.

4. Once the Update Process starts, release the Hardware Buttons and wait 5-10 Minutes till the Process is Completed.

5. On a successful finish, the Device will automatically Reboot and you’re all set to enjoy the new Firmware on your Huawei/Honor EMUI/Magic Smartphone


That’s the simple Guide to Update your Huawei/Honor Phone to the latest Version.

Please be careful when flashing if you flash the wrong firmware you can brick your device

I got the official Update 10.1.0.245 for L29C432,but my M20x is in the Repair Center.
