camera crash right away, wont open at all.
you probably can use OTG , or push/sideload the magisk uninstaller to /cache partition
I think i might have a problem with leftover magisk modules causing bootloop with Magisk 19.1.
How do I uninstall by sideloading into /cache? Run the zip file from twrp after I place into cache?
But my data and system are still encrypted, how will uninstaller work?
UPDATE: Fixed by touching/creating a .disable_magisk file in /cache. It boots now
Bricked my CLT-L29 when tried to downgrade from B195 to B159 using this method((
Now there is a black screen only (with fastboot available when connected to PC). No eRecovery, No reaction for power key etc.
Information I can get via fastboot commands:
C:\ADB>fastboot oem get-product-model
...
(bootloader) CLT-L29
OKAY [ 0.003s]
finished. total time: 0.003s
C:\ADB>fastboot oem get-build-number

I put this info as a warning for anybody to be very carefull and not to try downgrade...
Hard brick with no screen, it's the end of the story. Any tries to flash cust, cache, system, recovery_ramdisk via fastboot and clearing userdata don't help.
Of course. Every this methods has been tested. As I wrote it's bricked and no eRecovery and no ADB. So each of standard way is not working. Of course also Hisuite can not do anything. Just says that it cannot restore system on this phone. And it's true as bootloader is corrupted.Have you try to flash stock ram disk from the version you come from? Try to boot in erecovery then. Or try to connect in adb mode on huawei suite on PC to recover..
If you try to flash the original ram disk be sure to type fastboot reboot afterwards and then quick disconnect the USB c cable and hold Vol up for long time to boot in erecovery

Be careful with idea of downgrading from Pie to Oreo as it will finish like in my case.
Flash Magisk 18.2 with the link given a few pages before.
It's very easy and it works perfectly
Step by step how to root b270:
install Magisk Manager v7.1.1 apk
download patched_boot.img here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CJHrHfyAAx1wYWp8oRzmfq0L-buTRjHX
Reboot device to fastboot mode and flash patched_boot.img using command:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk patched_boot.img
Now issue command fastboot reboot. Quickly unplug USB cable and hold vol-up button. Now your device will be booted in to rooted ROM
Enjoy
Hi, fastboot says this when I try to flash your custom .img:
PS C:\adb> fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk patched_boot.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery_ramdisk' (32004 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.831s]
writing 'recovery_ramdisk'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.844s
What can I do? I have OEM and debugging mode activates
Huawei stopped issuing free bootloader unlock codes. You can try for anyone generating unlock code for money. No but how can I unlock it? Sorry for disturbing but I'm new in Huawei

Unfortunately not. I changed the main board in authorized service point (paid service) so I got changed IMEI and locked bootloader (as new phone).Did you manage to fix your phone, I'm in the exactly the same situation?
Does rooting require opened bootloader? Theres no info in main thread

180 USD. But it is local Polish rate. I don't know if it same standard in other countries.
i clean flash almost every day.Hi Guys
This question is out of interest. New firmware flashers (totally clean flash) can confirm this. We all are aware that Google has discontinued its support to all Huawei devices. HGow does it affect when we do a CLEAN FLASH (i.e wiping data, system and everything). Does the setup go through asking google acticvation.
Thanks.
You have to rename both files according to the manual. It's must. If you have other files in this folder you can just delete them and then copy your new files and rename them. That's all.Hi, I'm having some trouble updating to 195.
I downloaded CLT-L29C432E5R1P9B195 (9.0.0.195) from FW Database - link in first post.
Put both files - update.zip & update_full_CLT-L29_hw_eu.zip - in to ZIPS-HERE folder.
Because there is already a file called "update.zip" I didn't rename any of those two files.
Using FLASH_two_files.bat gives me always the Missing file error - !!! Missing ZIP files or you have not renamed ZIP file as per this flash guide!!!
My current FW is CLT-L29 8.1.0.156(C432).
Would really appreciate any help.
4. Go back to magisk manager default page and refresh (pull down). Install the latest magisk manager version when prompted. Now open magisk manager after installing the updated version and again pull down to refresh
8. Now issue command fastboot reboot. Quickly unplug USB cable and hold vol-up button. Now your device will be booted in to rooted ROMfastboot command ===> fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk patched_boot.img
Hi @smohanv
i managed to update my C636 P20 Pro to .201 using the new full base .zip
procedure was changed, it's easier now though. You might want to update the OP (or make it sectional, split between old method and new method)
Here's the method :
Pre-Requisites : ROOT
1. Download EMUI Flasher from HERE (courtesy of @OldDroid) - Dont worry, the app is clean and clean
2. Download the Latest Approved Update_full_base.zip of your phone model from FF
3. Open the App, choose the firmware zip you already download. If the app prompt to install some assets, approve it, it need to re-install stock recovery back.
4. Ignore the second firmware file option
5. Tap the "Flash Button" on the bottom right corner
6. Wait till phone boot to recovery, flashing update and finish.
7. Optional - Re-ROOT using your patched recovery ramdisk
i should open an application thread to provide exact infos. Thanks for your guide. I have added in OP.
