Hmm,

Never tried before.

Phone Terminal:
"getprop ro.cid" gives "VODAP001"

Fastboot:
"getvar cid" gives "cid: 11111111"

I believe the Fastboot version of CID is the important one as far as flashing stuff, installing RUU etc. The way my phone is ATM I'm SuperCID for flashing and it's certainly the only one I'd considered.

I must admit I'm surprised that they're not the same though. I'll have an idle search for this.

EDIT: Found some info from a very old thread, it'll just add to confusion so won't post. In essence just use the SuperCID method contained in the following thread and it'll work, i.e. Fastboot to write and check.

cidnum: HTC__J15 ??
You should be good to go with that with the HTC Firmware.

But if you are going to do the "fastboot oem writecid" command you might as well do 11111111, flash the firmware, get the rom booting, go back to the bootloader and then do "fastboot oem writecid HTC__J15" and set it back to what it was if you don't want to stay SuperCID :)

Try this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21644098&postcount=47245
That is one of the best follow throughs I have seen for getting on the latest ICS Roms and flashing order.
Thanks Man now its working :)

Fastboot will show current cid.
Terminal and Cid getter show your phone's original Cid :)

I don't know why it is done this way. I am assuming the fastboot reads off the eeprom but the terminal and Cid getter read off something in the built in hardware

That is what is nice though. If you don't know your original CID you can find out that way in case you even need to fix it so you can send back for warranty

Hi Kohr-Ah, regarding the update that time you help me when I PM you. Is this a updated version or the same as that time?
I can't honestly remember when that was :p I have to delete a lot of messages out of my inbox every other day. If it is based off of what your signature says (you are on 6.0.2) 3.24 is Newer and is used to run 6.1.1

I only can wait, til the HBOOT 1.23 is unlocked by Revolutionary...
Don't wanna lose my warranty from htcdev's unlocking.

Here's my output from HBOOT 1.23 S-ON flashing 3.24Rev:
Code:
C:\Users\Nightwing>fastboot flash hboot J:\PG58IMG.zip
sending 'hboot' (14264 KB)... OKAY
writing 'hboot'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)

C:\Users\Nightwing>fastboot flash zip J:\PG58IMG.zip
sending 'zip' (14264 KB)... OKAY
writing 'zip'... INFOsignature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)

Have you tried to restore your phone with an original RUU, get it back to stock, and then reroot with revolutionary?

Of course, tried it with all official RUU's for the XE:

  • RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.72.401.1_Radio_10.58.9 035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_214840_signed.exe
  • RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.2_Radio_10.58.9 035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_215830_signed.exe
  • RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9 035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed.exe

and of course with the inofficial test RUU:
  • RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.12.401.102_Ra dio_11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2_test_233434.exe

Tried it with the RUU installer and with the "extract rom.zip from installer and rename it as PG58IMG.zip" method.

No chance... Any ideas, what i can do now?

Thanks in advance,

ToM

I don't know if any one asked but I have supercid and I was wondering if I could updated my firmware to the 3.24 revolutionary firmware? Or is there a link to it somewhere that you didn't edit? I on T-Mobile US.

Thanks in advance.

So this is there any order I can go in order I just put it in SDcard root folder and go to hboot? Also, if I upgraded once with the older firmware, do I need to do anything before updating it to the latest?

Backup Current ROM (just incase)
Firmware to SDCard Root
Flash Firmware
Reboot (At this point it will not boot. It will stay at HTC screen)
Take out SD Card and remove PG58IMG (if you can't without phone then just boot in recovery and put SD back in)
Super Wipe
Flash new Rom
Then you should be good.

Possible Solution- Worked for me.

Of course, tried it with all official RUU's for the XE:

... removed ROM list for the sake of brevity ...

and of course with the inofficial test RUU:
  • RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.12.401.102_Ra dio_11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2_test_233434.exe

I tried using this solution because my CID and MID is listed. CID= HTC__J15 and MID = PG5813000.

But do you have this same screen as mine? Well, I think we have the same ***Security Warning*** message.

I think it might be because the we are both S-ONed (as was mention in your other posts).

I also tried doing some other things to solve the loop but I was stuck as well. Even when I choose Recovery, it still went back to the same screen (screen 1).

I even tried flashing it with RUU_Pyramid_HTC_ARA_1.34.415.1_Radio_10.43a.9007.00U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_197242_signed.exe and I got ERROR[140] Bootloader Version Error and I was still stuck.

I tried this one out because I want to bring back my phone for repairs and is still under warranty. You can check out my dilemma through: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21756585#post21756585

However, try this one, if you're still stuck. It worked for me: (Everything got erased though, and I had to re-setup my phone)

  1. Removed phone from USB Cable.
  2. Reinstalled HTC Sync (I uninstalled it a couple of days back when I had the problem of S-ON)
  3. Unlocked using "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" (I got the Unlock_code.bin when I unlocked my phone through HTC Dev.)
    • When I did "adb devices", my phone is not listed.
    • I just tried "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" it went in.
  4. Driver auto-update happened.
  5. Phone reboot (mine did automatically).

I hope this helps. Please post if it worked for you or not. It might help others as well.

Unfortunately, I am still stuck with my warranty dilemma. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21756585#post21756585

So, if anybody can help, it will be much appreciated. :D
