Just a little update for those who had an issue with failed update
If you flash the stock t-mobile 1.45.x rooted and deodoxed rom then the update won't fail.
I was on CM7 and tried to update with firmware and it didn't work out like it should have and failed on me

Just some help
I have notice that the update fails in roms with custom battery scrip and obiusly if you reflash that rom again you will lose the battery update scrip again

It may be a waste of time for some. Not all regions have the update available yet. I personally tried this method...went for almost two days stock...never got the update....must not of been available in my region yet. The update will continue to be distributed till mid january.

Ha ha. Yes, that's what I meant. happy to hear I am not alone, what is your experience. :)
I think I have slightly better battery life, but don't notice much else has changed. It's been a while since I flashed it so I forget what to compare it to. :)

I have a (maybe) stupid question: this firmware is only for T-Mobile Sensation 4G?
I have a Sensation 3G with screen problem and I have read that this update can solve the problem but I'm afraid to SuperCID.

So, can I use the zip from the first post?
Thank you very much.

You must update the firmware after flashing 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.

I had the same problem. My phone updated fine, then my wife's needed to update to 5.1 then flash the firmware update. I did need to superCID and now all works!

Excellent work Mike! Thanks.

I just got the update icon tonight and that prompted me to check and see if it was flashable. Flash went well and the power button problem seems to be gone! However, the system update icon still pops up. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? S -off rooted, stock rom, hboot 1.17. Thanks.

I'm looking for the best way to install the new OTA TMO USA 12/7/2011 1.50.531.1 update. I am currently rooted, s-off, but NOT SuperCID. I have my original NAND Stock ROM when I first rooted my TMO Sensation 4G. Will it be better if I revert back to my NAND Stock ROM and then proceed with OTA Update in settings>about phone> HTC Software Update...? If I do this, will I lose root and have to do the whole revolutionary thing again?

I am having an issue flashing this on my Sensation. Currently I have tried it on two of them... my friend's phone accepted it just fine, but this one gives me PU-Fail on the first section and passes the radio install.

I have restored to stock RUU, tried again with no dice... even tried to push install through my computer. Is this a bricked partition? or something I missed? I have superCID set as well... and have tried multiple downloads from different locations.

New update

I just noticed things being said about this update about 1/2 month to a month ago and didn't know if my phone already had this seeing that i could never find the same rom that came stock on my phone which was the HTC Sensation 4g 1.45.531.1 with the radio 1.14 and hboot 1.800. I just got this phone new from T-mobile a month ago and the date on the serial number sticker was 11/09/11 so i had this feeling that my phone was pretty up to date. I was rooted and decided to go back to stock unrooted to see if i'd get this update. Well as i said earlier i could never find the 1.45.531.1 ruu except for one place and that being the xda thread for the sensation official signed ruu's, but for some reason that page is now reformatted and it sends you to a rapidshare type link that takes longer than ever to download the ruu's and the tmous ruu 1.45.531.1 is gone. The latest they have is the one that starts with 1.29 and radio 1.11. So needless to say i just used that and went back to stock. I quickly just raced through the setup not setting up anything and went straight to the updates and turned them off before so they wouldn't download anything and have an accident of installing anything in any way before going back to s-on. So i went back to s-on, turned my wifi and data on went straight to the updates for htc and it updated my 1.28 rom to 1.45.531.1 with radio 1.14. So i thought that was it and all along i did have this implemented in my phone and my phone was always gonna have sh*%ty screen response, scrolling that you literally feel like you are pulling the page to get it to move, this ignorant problem where i have to press my power button twice to get the screen to turn back on, and last but not least my most irritating of them all is the phone getting stuck with a black screen and the bottom keypad lights stuck on when turning off or restarting the phone,AND THIS IS STOCK

  • So after all that long story I decided to go into the htc updates again even though it was checked for automatic download now that i was s-on unrooted again,I clicked on check for updates and right there was an update for 14mb's. I figured this had to be the update. And now is where the real part that matters comes in. Since 2wks ago, after installing the ota while s-on, my screen feels so amazing now like it could literally be scrolled by a damn feather,LOL, and i am not kidding though. My phone don't freeze when restarting anymore, my power button turns my screen back on with only one touch now,and even a whole bunch of other things were fixed and came with it also

  • The other things that happened and that came with the update is the scrolling of the home screens is super responsive now, I don't know if anyone else notices this that went back to s-on to get the update or if it comes with this stripped down update as i didnt see it when i opened it up but the new music apk is way better than the old one,Oh and how could i almost forget one of the hugest things that this update has fixed on my phone, When clicking my icons now i don't have to click them more than one time anymore to get them to respond.

  1. Im sorry for the long post you all I just wanted to let people know that this update seriously does help alot and it's not just some b's thrown out there just to make us think they are trying to fix something with our phones. Especially when in the U.S the Sensation 4g is going to start getting the real update from htc to change to android 4.0 within the next 2 or 3 months so why waste the time if it don't actually fix something. I just don't get where people are saying this is draining their battery or anything like that, that is just totally false and it's what gets people from getting the benefits of something that is needed cause it scares people away and makes them think they shouldn't flash this after this guy put all his work into this for users with s-off. Aint nothing different in this package being offered than the update i got other than things being removed, nothing added. I don't even know this guy and im pretty sure he didn't go and just throw some script in the package to drain the battery or some ignorant stuff like that and never was there anything in the update that would of screwed up the battery in the 1st place. Just open up the file and look if your so skeptic.

is it rooted? if not, just check for an update. if yes, then ask your friend if he flashed it with the new stuff.

this is not the right firmware for ics. you can flash this first, if you're still on a ginger bread rom, then start on the ics stuff. make sure you have a good understanding of what you're doing.
