It seems "PU Fail" happens when you try to install it after already successfully installing it once. Makes sense.... firmware stays put, as does the radio, after wiping and installing new ROM's etc. It makes sense that the partition update would fail if you've already flashed it successfully once. Android is just telling you...no need to update.

As a test, I simply ran it again.....I was able to get the "pu fail".

I guess some people are getting that even on the first attempt? My first attempt updated without any issue....second try, for ****es and giggles...fail ;)

In any event, THANKS to the OP! Good work!
Thanks for that reply, man...do you know a way to confirm that the first flash was succesfull? Better ask before flash the new radio ;)

At the bottom of this page you´ll find the FW-Bundle from 1.45 ruu.
I flashed this package in fastboot too, ´cause I also ran into randomly reboots with the package in the OP . Older Radio is in the virtuous package also included.
Let me know how it works. This update is not working for me though battery is great. Also the file is 16mb so it that alright? Just making sure

My screen did seem a bit more responsive.... I don't think this is the kind of update that you'll necessarily notice too much of a major change. As the norm with any update, official or unofficial, its always a bit of a crapshoot and sometimes is a little subjective. Other than that, the obvious sign that the first flash was good is that the update was a success in the bootloader. No fail msg etc.

I loaded the file just fine. After a few days now and a couple battery cycles and calibrating the battery, battery seems ok about the same a little worse, wifi is a little faster. I did notice that my signal strength is worse and I have missed a couple calls when I had a signal, phone just didn't ring. I am assuming the upgrade has a different radio and that's where the signal problems are stemming from. I also noticed that although APN's are the same I am only able to sent one mms then I get a fail every time after... What I want to know is anyone else having signal drops or lesser signal sense installing the package?

My phone runs just fine since installing the update. I restored to stock so I could accept the update ota and then did a clean install of cm7.

Okay i have having the same problem as eveyone here with the firmware problem with the pu failed, easy fix download the 1.50.531.1 ruu wxx.fileserve.com/file/VuBV5DV/RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_ 10.14.9035.01_M_release_223976_signed.exe and re-root the ruu contains everything needed for this. I am also working on a rom that includes this fix it will be my first stock rooted rom, i will be releasing it tonight.

Hey so this might sound ridiculous but I'm having a problem tryign to get the update (1.50.531.1) to push through to my phone. I could use this image you provided to flash to the most recent release? Does this contain all the fixes?

Can you tell me the steps. I want to try and do it that way. It may be why I'm experiencing lag after sometime. I don't care for splash screen that much so I'm fine without it

Sdobron: Thanks anyway, but this update does not fix my power button issue.

ROM: ARHD 4.1.8 (with bundled faux123 kernel). I've since updated to 4.1.9, which includes a fix for the issue.

I would love to report that this update is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for putting in the effort to do this. I am running ARHD Revolution 3.6.8 and this worked perfectly. Thank you!!!!

Interesting. I didn't have any of these issues, so I'm not going to flash just yet. I'd like better signal from my wifi, but not worth chancing anything breaking.

Sent from my... phone.
Ironic. I just decided to flash this because I wanted to test out the better WiFi and ended up screwing up my WiFi all-together. It wouldn't start. Just says "Error".

I'm currently backing up to restore an older back up and I'll see if that fixes it.

EDIT:

Yep, that fixed it. WiFi is not only working, but I have 2 more bars than usual sitting at my laptop.

To the OP: Great job. Thank you for taking the time to post this.

Just a little update for those who had an issue with failed update
If you flash the stock t-mobile 1.45.x rooted and deodoxed rom then the update won't fail.
I was on CM7 and tried to update with firmware and it didn't work out like it should have and failed on me

Just some help
