Although it may be to little to late... it is most likely the reason why we saw a software update for them recently. And depending on the success with the DOD we might see another.

mhm not sure tbh. I read that the actual test was mainly focused on the new suite of security/encryption apps specifically created by dell, which ofc eventually run on the streak5. from what i understand, the turkish (which google maps shows quite... distant from the usa :p) gingerbread update has little to no relevance regarding this matter.

Dell killed the Streak many months ago. DOD stuff is Android software... nothing to do with the Streak hardware. The article was misleading - poor reporting IMO.
