Yeah, kinda defeats the purpose of the cool leather back if it's hidden in an otterbox. I keep my phone naked with just a tempered glass screen protector, but I can see how others might have to make a tough decision.

i planning on glass screen protector too, have you ever dropped your phone on the front and hit the glass? how did it hold up?
I haven't, but my daughter dropped her G3 onto a hardwood floor. The glass screen protector shattered, but the screen underneath was perfect.
i have a droid razr m right now, and the glass screen is inside a frame. so if i drop it and it hits the sides it wont get cracked. i had a screen protector on it, one time in a car accident my phone went flying and was given to me a week later after police had done the report, saying that it was evidence to the scene
the screen protector was smessed up, but the glass was in great shape. seeing how the g4 can crack on the first drop, im gonna have to treat it like a baby
I'm sure I was reading somewhere that, G4 has a curved screen to help it with drops? This phone will definitely need a glass screen protector.
This guy drops the G4 with a case and the results are definitely a deal breaker for anyone looking into getting this device.

Didn't see a drop in that review. He seemed to like it.
He dropped it on cement with a case on. No damage.
