Hi all,

this is the new Fitbit Ionic smartwatch:

It's released on october 3th 2017 and combines the best of both worlds: smartwatches and fitnesstrackers. The Ionic has Fitbits's own OS, a combination of Pebble and Fitbit, and also has it's own app store.
Here are it's main features:
1. Of course all Fitbit's fitness features are availble, yet the heart rate sensor is very fast and much more accurate than the sensor of the Fitbit Blaze. Built in oxygen saturation sensor which will be activated in the near future.
2. Receive notifications from your smartphone, including SMS, Whatsapp, email and, of course Calls. These you can pick up or end with the Ionic.
3. Includes WiFi for faster download of apps or OS updates.
4. Pay with your Ionic. Visa and Mastercard are already supported.
5. Includes GPS
6. When exercising, for instance biking, the Ionic measures your distance and location, but best of all: it recognizes when you have to stop for a traffic light.
7. Battery lasts al long as 4 days without GPS active. With GPS it lasts for about 1 day.
8. Crystal clear display, even in direct sunlight, and is made of Gorilla glass 3. Display can be adjusted to your own needs. There are several skins available.
9. Contains a weather app.

Use this smartwatch now for 4 days and it's highly recommended. For all information, possibilities and accessories about/for the Ionic, please visit: https://www.fitbit.com/home

Anyone gonna code for this etc? New roms or enable apps or 3rd party apps etc? xD
To my knowledge there are no roms available. Fitbit has it's own OS. As for 3rd party apps, Hue lights is available for the Ionic. Therefore you need a Hue bridge and Hue light bulbs. Works flawlesly,

If you want a real Smartwatch

Hi all,

despite the introduction of the Fitbit Versa (no GPS) and the Apple watch series 4, IMHO the Fitbit Ionic is still the best and most powerfull smartwatch available at this very moment. Why:
1. It's compatible with Android and iOS
2. The battery still is the best around. Apple watch is approximately 1 to 2 days (when you have luck), while the Ionic lasts at least 6 to 7 days, whilst continously wearing.
3. It's very fast, the screen is very bright and there are a lot of third party apps to install.

Kindest regards, kuzibri
