Fitbit versa root/Development

So, can someone maybe root the versa, (or something like it.) so that we can maybe favorite watchfaces and save them on the watch, then change them without re-downloading. And maybe also make it so you can save customization for the watchfaces? If not, can someone explain why it can't work?

Very, very, very unlikely.

To root it, someone would have to get to the bootloader, which is in the firmware. The OS is closed source. Because the OS is likely not linux, rooting wouldn't be possible anyway. But if it could be somehow jailbroken, then someone would have to write a custom ROM for the watch. Then they would have to change the code for storage to make room for your watch faces. The amount of effort it would take a team of people to do all that is mind-bending.
