Went from stock T-Mobile 2.1 c/ Blur to Chinese Defy 2.2 rom rooted with super oneclick. Camera worked right away but only flashes once. Got an error when I tried to use the flashlite fix.

The first flashlight fix didn't solve the problem, but now my flashlight seems to be working perfectly, after applying the new flashlight fix. (Coming from clean 2.34 --> official chinese Froyo --> SuperOneClick root) Thanks!

Edit:

Sorry, after exiting camera application, flashlight stopped working. :(

Interesting... when applied the fix, after the first boot I made some pictures with flash (so flash worked not only for the first picture). After I exited the application, could not use flash anymore. Now I restarted the phone, made one picture with flash and that's it, it doesn't work anymore. What a bug...

If you have the issue like I did where I was running the 2.2 chinese rooted by superoneclick, I have resolved the issue with the flash where it was out of sync and only flashed once and then you had to reboot before it would work again - by simply wiping data from the camera app via titanium back up - I now have a 100% working rom, sweet!

Mine is working now.
But it's really funny.

When focusing, the flash is white, when I shooting, it is going to blue.

Any idea?
sort of same here.
came from 2.21 UK, after Chinese 2.2 sbf, flash works for the first time, then never again. funny thing is, if i only use the "droid light" app (you know, the little app with a UI of a giant light ball) which turns the flash on as a torch light, the flash works fine, even I shut the app then open it again. but if I use the official camera, or any other camera app, it only worked for the first time.

i flashed the "flash fix" first ,it didn't work, or, let's say it kind of worked -- using the official camera app, it won't flash at all, when using another app, called "camera360", it won't turn the flash on even I set it so, but when the picture is being taken, the flash would shine a very weak blue (or maybe green) light.

the latter "flash fix from different base" did not helped either, the little blue light remains.

also i tried "fix permissions" in clockwork recovery, it would go for just 1 second and it's done, reboot again, nothing better happened, it seems. lively things are working happily, dead flash is still dead.

although the lens and focus of this so called "5mp" camera are both ****ty, I do like the flash when I want my "droid light" to work.

why the hell is so difficult for motorola to release a decent froyo update anyway.

didn't work...
why some solutions works on some machines, some don't, this is also confusing.

have you reverted back to the state you were in in before flashing flashlight.zips, these changed a number of libs, so my advice is to either revert, or, reflash the 2.2 sbf, then try clearing camera data.

I reinstalled the system image only from a back up I took after rooting and removing apps.

Also after this the stock camera flash works as expected, in vignette, it works as expected, however after each flash, the led stays on, I'm not sure if its meant to do this as I'm new to the app, it actually quite a nice bug if it is one.

I did not revert or reflash the stock Chinese 2.2.

A new problem is, the flash actually is not "dead", when the shutter is touched, it only shines a very weak white light then instantly turns into green. If I set the flash to "on" but not "automatic" nor “off”, it will not shine any light until the shutter is touched.

And I was quite sick of this flash thing, I decided to go back to 2.21 UK stock. Then the flash **** happened again.

Despaired...
