Another flash light problem....
The led only can turn on/off..
If set to auto flash mode... the led will turn on until quit the camera.

Then go to the camera again... you need to turn on the flash by changing the flash mode....

The true auto flash mode mean that the camera will detect the situlaion and make the led flash or not...
But now.... it just like a torch....

hi
i have a defy with 2.21_UK.And when i saw this patch i decide tu up to 2.2_Chinese.
but when i finished it the flash just worked at the first time of reboot
so i want to patch it but i can't enter the custom recovery(at that time i didn't know it's because of USB debugging)
and then i flashed 2.51_UK. but the flash didn't work too.
at this time i can only recovery 2.2 or flash 2.51 and the flash works with low intensity in green light

i noticed that the flash fix is some file in system and i can't read the file with .so
but i found that in build.prop there was some line like this:
ro.media.capture.maxres=5m
ro.media.capture.flash=led
ro.media.capture.classification=classH
ro.media.capture.flip=horizontalandvertical
ro.media.capture.flashIntensity=41
ro.media.capture.torchIntensity=25

but in the same file in 2.21 there are the only two lines:
ro.media.capture.maxres=5m
ro.media.capture.flash=led

so i guess it's because of the differents in this file my flash doesn't work

and the num 41 25 means 41% and 25%?

and what does the classification and flip mean?

with this can i make my flash work again?

sorry for my poor english

seems same as my problem...
i start from 2.21 to 2.2 chinese, the led flash worked strongly first time. then dead.
then apply the flashfix.zip, the weak green light appears. no strong white light at all.
even i go back to 2.21, the flash remains weak green...

no clue how to fix...but dude you show some hope here..

My compass works - or at least it is deffo pointing north lol
My point north too, but I can not calibrate it. Also I use GPS status from market and before update to 2.2 magnetic and real north didn't match. Now they match. May be now it points only magnetic north ... so I feel that it is not working properly now.

Higgsy can you calibrate your compass ?

just to let everyone know that doing a data wipe using the stock (power button and volume down) recovery has fixed all my flash related problems.

this fixed my flash either not working or being very weak, this had been a problem ever since i used the flash fix in this thread. even going back to 2.51 and trying multiple restores never fixed it.

I don't know if this will fix to all of you. But I found a little method that fix the camera every time that it doesn't work. It's really simple but.. it need to restart the phone.

First Kill the Camera Application and after that restart the Phone. Try it and tell me what.

I get this error when I try to take a picture with the came, the first time that the system load the Camera Module. Maybe the problem comes from the kernel module.

I should say that I'm using a Chinese ROM 2.2 modified.

It's so funny that i can normal use camera360 now,I didn't do anything to it,not kill camera application- -!but it become normal,and i try some application that need to call camera,some apps still couldn't normal running and activated suggest box Process has been terminated,maybe it's some problem about it's kernel module

i have a problem my camera focuses in on the object and then as it is taking it shifts focus so the end picture is blurred. Its this a problem for any one else?
I had the same problem, but I solved it with a Wipe Date of App Camera (with Titanium Backup).

Good luck :D
