Solution!!!
Opengapps is highly customizable. You can put a .gapps-config file in the same folder as the pico zip, with commands to control what it installs and also to remove some stock apps to make room. So just now I had one with these lines:

Code:

# stock removals
Browser
CMAccount
CMUpdater
Email
ExchangeStock

This doesn't work for me. I get to the screen and execute the resize command and it comes back says successful and yet the size does not change for the System partition. My system partition is set at 661MB with 140MB free. Any suggestions?

Doesn't work for me, trying to update this phone for my girl. Followed your instructions, and the video. Still insufficient storage...

I would like to refer you to the following link...

Within the page (link below), scroll down and locate "Bullet #6" and scroll down a bit more within that bullet and read the "Sub-Bullet #70".

https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/FAQ

That should provide the guidance you need.

Hi, today I'm bringing you a fix for the error 70 that will come up after installing google apps in TWRP because of system partition space problems.

You will have to follow this steps:

- Go to the recovery menu and do a factory reset.

- Search the ROM and install it.

- (This is a very important step for it to work). Go to TWRP recovery and select wipe.

- Then go to Advanced Wipe.

- Once you are there, select System partition and click repair or change file system.

- Some options will come up, and select Resize File System.

- Once you have followed all these steps you can nos install all google apps without problem.

If you still have any issue or problem dont hesitate to comment, and I will try to help you. Thanks!

I am having the same problem twice - 1) When I try to install 7.1.x it states I need to install version 6.0.1.
2) When I try to install 6.0.1 it states I need to install version 7.1.x.
Error 20 each time and it's Lineage 14.1 for Nexus 7 I am attempting to install them in (which is Android 7.1.2).
In addition I am now again (upon 3rd install attempt) being shown error 70, but I (having had it resize the system partition) have more than enough space for as much: (this website is blocking me from posting a link to the photo so simply change the following to the correct format) (drive.google(dot com)/open?id=1aaCiOwzoGRgrZPkJPuEj3jQOc-3hgnH3) so this doesn't make sense...
What now must be done to install this apps application?

Try to install another version of Gapps.... like if you have Pico or Nano version, try to install Micro version

I have tried them all. None of them install. What must be done in addition to this topic's early post is what I am unclear about. Those instructions claimed that increasing the size of the system partition would do the job, yet did nothing of the sort. I even tried reinstalling the OS, following the instructions here then again attempting to install all forms of the Gapps application, but yet again none would install.
