To be sure. The boot images disable encrypt but I am not sure that it is the same with the supersu zips.

You can. But if you end up messing something up and bootloop, and your bootloader is locked, you will not be able to fix it with a factory image. Can i unlocked the bootloader do what has to be done and then lock the bootloader and remain with the stock rom, kernel and recovery?
Trying to restore an encrypted backup after successfully disabling encryption? The guide would be, don't, lol.I did manage to disable the encryption on my N9, and got root and xposed, BUT I couldn't get a /data restore to work, it did restore but the unlock screen was there and my unlock would not work, I could tell the data was actually restored as it was giving my notifications, just could not get passed unlock.
So... I just did a wipe and reinstalled all my apps.
Got current stock ROM, root, ElementalX, f2fs on /cache and /data, not encrypted. So the path worked but could do with a decent precise guide so a backup + restore works.
The guide says backup.Trying to restore an encrypted backup after successfully disabling encryption? The guide would be, don't, lol.
You can restore. But it won't be unencrypted. Format data. The guide says backup.
What's the point as the restore of day from backup drags an unlockable state with it.
Guide should say backup and restore via other means. E.g. Titanium Backup.
System must also be wiped. I've wipe everything, completly. And then flash CM13, gapps, FED-Pacher from USB-stick (or you can sideload it). After reboot and setup it was unencryptet. Before do this, save your apps with TitaniumBackup also somewhere else (USB-stick).I have flashed the zip on my N9, without any errors. I then went into Wipe of TWRP, and chose /data, /cache, /dalvik and /internal memory, but not /system. I then rebooted, went into Settings - Security, but it says that it's encrypted.
Should I wipe system too in TWRP? Won't that delete the OS? Cheers
In the op it says to wipe after flashing the zip, if I wipe system after flashing the zip tho what OS will it have left to boot into?System must also be wiped. I've wipe everything, completly. Just boot to bootloader. Then "fastboot format userdata". Done. Just be aware that this will wipe the contents of your SDcard. In the op it says to wipe after flashing the zip, if I wipe system after flashing the zip tho what OS will it have left to boot into?
In twrp, choose "format data".I have flashed the zip on my N9, without any errors. I then went into Wipe of TWRP, and chose /data, /cache, /dalvik and /internal memory, but not /system. I then rebooted, went into Settings - Security, but it says that it's encrypted.

For some reason, wiping /data in twrp is more like "deleting all files on /data" than formating. Using stock recovery or fastboot to wipe solved the problem for me.Not work on my Nexus 5x. I have format all, after this i have flash rom (mokee), gapps (opengapps) and fed and reboot. But under Security i see my device is encrypted and not unencrypted.
Hi @ideaman924,Thanks, @gladiac. One thing I don't understand is why it cannot persist during TWRP updates.
Can't you make an addon.d or something (like opengapps) to make fedpatch persist? Or is it because fedpatch is at boot.img, and addon.d only works at system partitions? :| lol
Didn't work for me. What happened was it all worked but i couldn't unlock the screen. The recovery restore worked, once booted it was showing me all the signs all the apps working, getting emails etc, but it would not unlock.can we use nandroid to restore /data after formating and stay unenrcrypted, or the nandroid restore gets you back to the encripted state?
