Fix for audio crashing system (audio Hal)

Does anyone have any type of fix or workaround to stop audio from crashing system. I'm not sure what triggers it, as mine didn't crash at until the last few weeks . I use GPS extensively and it's annoying to have to restart to see where I am driving to.

What device and rom? Any mods? If you can dirty flash rom again, there's a chance it's working again(like camera gets not detected). But please provide all details.
