So this started to happen on my urbane, I ordered s new battery and it still happens, I don't have a soldering iron, any way to fix this without it?
Hi, Can you confirm that your new battery work just fine or do you have to tweak it as mentioned in this forum. ThanksA new battery has saved my G Watch R.. only 8€:good:
Hi Sooti, is your problem solved? where did you buy the replacement battery? So this started to happen on my urbane, I ordered s new battery and it still happens, I don't have a soldering iron, any way to fix this without it?
I ordered another battery and the second one fixed itHi Sooti, is your problem solved? where did you buy the replacement battery?
Can share where you buy the 2nd battery from. thank youI ordered another battery and the second one fixed it
From rounded.com, a bit pricey but genuine OEM partCan share where you buy the 2nd battery from. thank you
If you still have your old battery, it's probably still good. If you know someone else who has a soldering iron or you're okay with spending an additional $5-10 equivalent in USD for a soldering iron, I would recommend modifying your OLD battery. So this started to happen on my urbane, I ordered s new battery and it still happens, I don't have a soldering iron, any way to fix this without it?
Could you explain how you used ADB to get battery heath and was able to test the DISCHARGE values? The only way I'm aware that ADB will work is via the USB cable and cradle. When my watch is connected to my computer via USB, it is always charging, not discharging?Tks !! Doing this hack with the resistor (using multimeter, the original has 0.03 ohm) and using via ADB the "dmesg | grep healthd" the battery indicates rate charger (the c=<NUMBER> in the healthd). Before the hack, the c was zero (c=0), now got negative values if the watch is discharging and positive values with charging.
Tks

Once modified, replace the new battery with the old one and you should have a functional watch.
I did this. I bought a replacement battery and after install it still had problems and eventually progressed to running only while on the charger. I got my old battery out of storage, modified it and swapped the batteries again and haven't had a problem since. My old battery didn't have a capacity issue after all. After 13 hours at work, the battery is 65-70% remaining. After charging again and sleeping with the watch on for 8+ hours, it still has 80+% (I sleep with the watch in "Theater mode").
Suggestions from the original Chinese website where this hack originated suggests that this component is a fuse (i.e. poly-fuse). Basically a poly-fuse changes resistance due to overload but can be damaged in some circumstances to where it still has a considerable resistance after the overload has been eliminated.

Did you have a USB cable that you could break the 5v/Gnd connections on, so you could test DISCHARGE, or is there another off-wire method of ADB that you were using?
My G Watch R is also having the same issue, and when I swapped in a new battery, the issue still persisted. Either the new battery is bad, or there's something wrong with the board of the watch itself. I noticed the same thing too, it can last for hours on recovery, but will shut down instantly on higher CPU usage. I might try to remove the fuse on my older battery, but I hope it wont cause issues or start a fire. I normally leave my watch charging overnight.Hi people. If we override the fuse , will it cause an issue? Moreover I did a test. I had 2 urbane r. One was having this issue and the other was perfectly fine. O swapped the batteries and the working battery went bonkers like the original issue. So my question is , would this be a issue with the motherboard ? Discharging too fast ? Cause the fuse to blow ? Now thething is the watch is able to boot to recovery and stays on with indicates it's able to discharge low current. Once processors starts increasing the processing power it's gone bonkers. So could it also point to hear dissipation issues? Sorry guys just throwing some possibilities. As a new battery probably will go the same way soon.
Cheers
Jev
I fix it by removing fuse and soldering with wire and now my watch work perfect i leave it to charge overnight too so i dont see a problemMy G Watch R is also having the same issue, and when I swapped in a new battery, the issue still persisted. Just wondering, will it work just as well if I dont remove the component and just directly bridge the 2 ends with soldering wire? My soldering skills arent that good especially with components this tiny. I already ruined my "old" battery, and I only have my new one remaining. I can't buy a G watch battery where I'm from. I had to have it shipped from the US.I fix it by removing fuse and soldering with wire and now my watch work perfect i leave it to charge overnight too so i dont see a problem![]()
It's not so hard i didnt touch soldering wire and i make it so i guess you can do it tooJust wondering, will it work just as well if I dont remove the component and just directly bridge the 2 ends with soldering wire? I tried to put solder over the fuse, and the fuse got too hot and it came off. and I just put solder over its contacts. All is well now! My watch is working well, and it lasts way longer than my old battery. I just hope it doesnt blow up on my wrist. Muchas gracias, le e desmontado la carcasa no me a echo falta quitar ni placa ni batería, solo con despegar la pegatina de la batería se ve y tampoco me a echo falta sustituir nada solo le e calentado un poco con el soldador y solucionado, muchas gracias compi un saludo ?You are my hero of the day.
I replaced the component (what ever that may be) and the bootproblem was solved.
Thank you very much for sharing this
Do you know what the component is?
