my first thank you..haha

How to fix a Hardbricked RAY
I bricked my Ray last night when I try to relock.after flashing It stucked flash mode.I could nt use flash tool any more! Also fastboot mode wasnt working. When I try to PC companion it was nt starting directly from flash mode. Then an old version updater bringed back my phone! You can even fix if xRecovery doesn't work!
RAY or other xperias WITHOUT using PC Companion or Flashtool.
Do it step by step;

-First uninstall all sony pc companion components. All sony drivers.
-Then download SEUS from this link.http://db.tt/jpD87GkM
-Install and run. After updating the program close.
-Then download pda.net drivers from here:http://junefabrics.com/android/download.php and install.
-Download and install latest flashtool from the topic.
-After all of these you must relock ray because you need to SEUS to unbrick your phone and it requres locked bootloader.
-Download this ftf file and flash this file via flash tool.http://www.mediafire.com/?g1b5j712ajx4yjd .(Your device must be seen after installing pda.net drivers in green flash mode)So your phone is have locked bootloader.
-So every think is ready.Open SEUS than select your ray that is it.For this step:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492805
-You can unlock your phone again if you want than ;)

I hope this helped, and if it worked for you, Thanks to NathanBookham.
tq..

This is not for hardbricked, if your device is hardbricked you need to get it repaired or you need a JTAG Riffbox.

If you call this hardbricked, your obviusly a noob, this is just a fix for softbrick. OT should edit the thread to "Fix softbricked Ray"

If you can get to Fastboot/Flashmode/Sony logo your phone is just softbricked.

If you cant get to any of the things above, I believe your device is hardbricked.

i can update from seus and that does nothing as well still stuck at Sony logo.

any ideas

thank's
May be you debranded your phone and your phone's brand lock doesnt allow to boot. Try to find orginal vodafone branded room and flash it with flastool.if doesnt work unlock bootloder without erase drm sector by using service points. Use threads in xda. it looking complicated but not. only you are using a jumper to make phone to enter service mod than s1 tool unlocking easly also you dont lose your warranty. it must make your phone complately debranded. dont use sony ericson site. Than change your kernel. it must boot.

But anyway, you should edit the title. Like I said, its not a hardbrick unless your phone has no sony ligo/vibration on start, then its a hardbrick.

Hi,

Itried to unbrick my phone following the guide, but still hanging at sony logo.
I did reinstall my windows, to be sure it's clean of drivers.
then installed seus, run and exit.
installed pda drivers.
didn't flash the ftf, because my BL is still locked.
updated phone with SEUS, successfully!

but still hanging at sony ...

any further ideas are highly appreciated!

thanks.

Try to latest firmware update ftf files with flash tool. From the topics.Or if you dont mind unlock the bootloder use a CWM readykernel than format system data and other partitions in CWM.Set up a custom rom.

If it go on fast boot mode it must unlock. It is stucking on sony logo so problem is on your kernel and it is locked. But you say SEUS updated succesfully.SO kernel renewed.Unlocking allowing you to changing your kernel so it can solve problem maybe But I connot promise it will fix.Dont unlock your phone from offical sony web site.Try test point unlock firstly. If your phone test point method protected there also xperia unlocking programs which is giving unlocking code directly by your imei number. So you dont give record to sony about unlocking your phone.
I advice you to send your phone to warranty service if it didnt end.If its end there some jtag methods to bring your phone back if its fully hardware bricked. There is some online servicies which is doing jtag stuff.

Hi,

I did unlock my BL, I then hotbooted custom kernel, but unfortunately still stucks at sony-ericsson logo.
I then flashed the custem kernel, booted into cwm, factory reset, format /system, wiped dalvik cache and flashed Illuminative rom, but still stucks at sony-ericsson logo.
Since the logo changed from sony to sony-ericsson, I assume the kernel flash was succesfull, so BL unlock was succesfull too.
I'm not sure anymore if the problem is with BL.

I'm not sure what is loader.sin for. I was considering to flash GB .42, to have a stock firmware, but when I try to flash with flashtool, can't unselect loader.sin from being flashed. Is this loader.sin the bootloader? If I flash stock .42 along with loader.sin, will it relock my BL, or will it crash anything?

Any advise is highly appreciated.

Thank you!

It will not re lock your phone again.Relocking is only possible with locking ftf.Or try to flas new base band may be It can help.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36869677&postcount=776 (change zip file to ftf than flash it in flash mode). But I m afraid It seems your phone may need j tag.
