This is the most frustrating problem that I have ever encountered with one of my phones. My Sensation randomly shuts down and will not boot into the OS until I plug it in, at which point it turns on and shows that there is a lot of battery left. I've tried the business card in the battery, the foil over the ground pin, the battery fix zip flash and numerous different ROMs and wipes. Given that my phone is about 2 weeks out of warranty, it seems that I'm going to have to write it off and buy something new. :(

That's a shame. Have you tried to clean the battery connectors with rubbing alcohol? I heard that worked for someone.

I was in the same boat as you. I tried every rom avaliable and I finally found one that fixed the problem. Try using the asop based 2.62 miui rom that's posted somewhere in this forum. I would link it but I'm on my phone. Ever since I flashed it I haven't had any trouble with random shut downs the only thing is I don't like being shackled to just using a miui rom.

[ROM][MIUIv4][AOSP][24th June 2012]iPyramid v1.3.2

I'm pretty sure this was the one I was talking about. Sorry I don't remember exactly but if I'm not mistaken that's it.

I'll give this a shot. I'm back running T-Mobile stock ICS, which also didn't fix anything, so at this point I might as well just flash/wipe again...

Hello everybody,

I also have this problem in a really really annoying way. I tried to put a little bit of paper between the small place as described in the first post.
First I thought it is helping I only had one reboot that day.

Today I was driving to work and wanted to listen to music. Then it appeared again and again and again...

I feel like throwing it against a wall until it's completely br:highfive:eek:ken.

Any suggestions, please?

So since this issue has been giving me quite a bit of frustration, I have devised a very simple fix that should work for at least a few other people. There was a post in the ARHD thread where it suggested cleaning the connectors and the battery. I was pulling out my battery to give this a try when I realized the battery could be pushed slightly farther down into the housing, allowing for a more solid connection.

What I did was wedge a small piece of business card between the top of the battery housing and the battery itself. This has worked very well for me so far. If anyone else would like to try this and either confirm or deny that it is working for them that would be great.

As requested, pictures have been attached. One shows the items you need, another shows where I placed it against the battery and the other shows it sitting flush in the battery housing. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hey Kush thanks for the tip however I donno for some reasons it did not worked for me.. later on I installed LeeDrOiD ROM's and it has done wonders.. no reboot issue fast nice sense 3.6 and what not.. I am throughly satisfied with this ROM, keeping this aside.. I was wondering that is this an issue with Stock ROM from HTC or something else.. maybe a Dev can point or correct...

I am not boasting anyones ROM since I have not tried other ROM's but what I want to point is if your phone is out of warranty people can try to flash a custom ROM to see if that helps!!

This fix has been working for me ever since I found the thread (a good couple months) and I have not had problems since.
I've had the reboots start again after I take out the plastic I have wedged in there to test.
I'm running CM9 nightlies and stock battery.
I showed the trick to a friend who was having the exact same issues and he hasn't seen a reboot for the last week since he started using it!

thanks so much to the OP, you saved my sanity!

Doesn't seem to matter what rom for most people. I tried several with same results. Glad you found a fix that works for you.

Another happy customer here. I was getting really annoyed with the constant shut downs, not had one since I stuck that bit of card in!

It got to a point just before I did this where I was going to take the phone back and just buy a different one. But thankfully this worked and I didn't have to. I really like the screen size and the rest of the hardware for this phone. There is also quite a bit of development for it.

They should replace it as long as it is under warranty. You will most likely get a refurbished model though.
