Is it gonna help with battery life?

Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
It's just a normal paper business card probably about 1/16 inches (~1.5 mm) thick. For me it helped battery life.

I believe the issue is do to poor contact between the battery and the pins in the housing on the phone. The poor connection causes the battery to push more power which results in it going beyond the safe threshold of milliwattts. When the battery goes beyond this level there is a failsafe to prevent the battery from doing something crazy like overheating or exploding.

This isn't a problem with all phones. But it has helped quite a few people. It only takes a few seconds and it couldn't hurt anything.

For me, it solved my problem 100%
The worst that can happen is it doesn't solve your problem.

In this case I recommend cleaning the contacts on the battery and housing. If that doesn't work, try adjusting the ground pin.

Hi guys,

I have this problem like most of the people here. Random shutdowns / bootloops, mostly 30 sec after booting ROM or, sometimes it holds for a few minutes.

First I put some paper in there to make it tight with battery, didn't help. So I bought another HTC official battery. It worked for 2 weeks then problems started again.

Since then I tried: cleaning battery contacts with alcohol, paper / bussiness card between battery and case, pulling out a ground pin, putting a foil between ground pin and case, factory reset, flashing custom ROM (10.2 cyanongen).
I spent at least 15-20 hours on doing this stuff, would gladly hear any additional suggestions. I need to get this phone working.

I got the same problem 6 months ago. What I did was put two SMD capacitors at the PCB. One after the battery pins, and the oder a little bit below.
I did that because I have very nice soldering skills. I do not recommend you to do this, but in fact what I did helped.
I have already post some pictures here in XDA.

Probably the power management unit of this phone is too bad. It won't happen if HTC used SILICONGATE power cores ;)

Want a fix? Just dont use or buy HTC stock batteries.. Had a stock battery, had this problem.. bought HTC 'extended' battery had still the same problem.. Got my money back and bought mugen power extended battery and problem dissapeared from day1 ;)

It's NOT rom related it is HW fault from htc side!

Hi,

Ever since I bought my Anker battery, I almost have no random reboots anymore, unless I've been frolicking around too much with custom roms... :p

YMMV. I only had this problem with an Anker battery and not the stock one.

Wow, Anker battery completely solved all random shutdowns. I tried literally everything.
Hope it helps somebody with same problems, it's still a nice phone so why not use it.
Thank you looneylv!
