Btw, "R" is not a root , is custom firmware.

R is exactly ROOT/use ADB and you see...
I chenged Keylaout for remote control, fully removed some apk with data, added custom main screen and so on...

Run ROOT Checker !.....
or install superuser......

What firmware you have now (R, no R)?
Run Remote ADB, connect TV, type su and you see answer.
Firmware with prefix R give answe - # (it mean root access).
Firmware without prefix R give answer - $ (it mean no root access).
"I can do this on normal version also......" - you can permanently remove/uninstall apps only not their data and all of that will restore when you make Reset. You can not add, substitud or delete system files!!!I

Second time/ROOT access via ADB ONLY on firmware with "R" mark.
At present time no possible access ROOT directly like Super user, Magisk and so on.

Explain how you flash ?
Look at flashing IMG file......TV must be Off.....etc.

Hi, I have TCL android tv model 40S65A chasis RT41KT-AP , I think it was already android 9 when I bought it.
Last Sunday it turn on by itself and It was on boot loop.
What firmware do I need to use, can it be fixed using this? I have tried downloading the Version 364, I tried the download mode, Led Indicator is blinking but nothing is showing up on the screen. Do I need to use USB 3.0? TIA

Interesting. Never thought we would get Android 11 on these models but glad we are. Shows long term support from TCL which would retain me as a future customer for other products
