Question Flashing Another Country/Region's Firmware?

Search This thread
I've had EFS/IMEI issues with phones in the past that messed around when the PIT file was incorrect.

Seems both B and E use the same named file, although i can see the firmware files vary a lot in size.

SM-A536B EUX has very different file sizes compared to SM-A536E AFR.

For anyone with an SM-A536U, Android 13/One UI 5 can be now downloaded and flashed via Odin (patched). Firmware for the model can be found here: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-A536U/AIO/A536USQU4BVK3

Initial impressions are pretty good. A bit laggy, but manageable. The CSC of the firmware doesn't match my phone's CSC, which could explain a bit of the lag. The phone, including cellular data, is still fully functional regardless of the different CSCs. I'll wait until the update is available for my CSC and I'll compare.

EDIT: After about 15 minutes, the phone isn't laggy, everything is even smoother than before, AND the camera shutter is instant! No more shutter lag.

Wish I could get the upgrade for my SM-A536U1, but I don't know if flashing the one for SM-A536U would **** up my phone or not.

As frustrating and totally whacked as it may be to have an unlocked phone wait on carriers locked ones... its just better to wait. Its also far easier and simpler. Possibly more bugs will get patched also.

Hi all. Can I flash eux (European) firmware to dcm SC-53C (Japan, Docomo)? Or can I flash any dsi image, e.g. Pixel experience? I do not want to have Docomo apps. Many thanks.

When comparing the models, they seem to be nearly identical in terms of specs. Like mentioned above, the only difference comes from the network bands. I guess the US variant has more bands to it than the European variant. Now I'm second guessing lol. I have the firmware downloaded, just backing up my phone in case things go awry.
Yes, but it's not that simple. You would probably have to change CSC first, i think SamKey tool is used for that, if hardware is the same maybe it's a possibility.

Even at SamKey US model isn't supported yet. US/Verizon model uses different 4G and 5G band frequencies, you could do a lot more harm and i'm pretty sure phone wouldn't work.

I think it should work - they seem only to differ in network coverage, yours supports more bands:

Well, you know the usual disclaimer like bricking, dead kittens and WW3, right? ;)

Oh of course! If this fails the world falls into total chaos.

You're talking about the network bands, right? I'd imagine that shouldn't have much of an impact when it comes down to firmware. I wonder if I'd see a decrease in network performance? Hmm things to consider. Thanks for the insight!
