Not exactly but installing TWRP will trip Knox so Samsung Pay & other things related won't work.

I don't use mobile payment systems so I can't speak to this, but it seems that with suhide (for SuperSU) and a Magisk root hide function most/many of these kinds of apps can still work.

Might want to double check on this, but I am fairly sure I've seen at least Android Pay working, if that's your thing.

I've seen reports of Android Pay & some banking apps working with root hide. But for Samsung Pay & Secure Folder, those won't work once Knox is tripped, not sure what else.

Root broke SHealth but that's an easy fix. Smart View is not working for me but I'm not sure if that was a result of root, never tried it preroot but with my other Note phones root did not affect it. I tried disabling hdcp but that's an old method. I never really use screen mirroring so whatever.

I do miss Private Mode on my Note 5 which was replaced by Secure Folder but I can live without. I also don't use any NFC payment features so it doesn't bother me. I would much rather have custom recovery & root.

ooh I deleted KT Hidden Menu app, so it would normally launch that? I can manually launch the IMS settings - was hoping for a way to enable HD voice manually as well.

Once installed. Top.right menu
Select app explorer
Then. All apps
Scroll down to. ims settings
Then scroll all way down to ims settings launcher activity
Select launch. (Rocket icon)
Then select ims service switch
Then turn on all video and volte options

hmm I wonder if it's something residual from being on the T-mobile CSC, or because I deleted the Korean apps... I have video calling, volte, MMS over wifi etc from manually enabling IMS like you did.

Just a note. I have the same phone (now rooted), from the same seller as you, and i can access the menu with the dialer code. I haven't changed anything yet, but I can.

yep, we discovered that it is the KT Hidden Menu app, which I deleted. I was asking if there is a manual way to enable those things.

Also - if I recall I think in that menu you can enable some kind of 5g test mode.

hmm you must have skipped quite a few messages. You can do it, via flashing with TWRP.

Worked for me but I have no clue if flipping any of those switches actually does anything. I got the video calling feature enabled though. I'm on AT&T in america. Just tried using video calling to someone who has a locked S8 on Verizon and the call didn't even ring

I believe that video calling doesn't work between carriers in the USA yet - I've had it on T-Mobile for several years but going through my contact list, the video call button is greyed out for people who don't also have T-Mobile.
