Build Question

The ROM I was using on my Flo recently became unsupported so I decided to look around for one that would continue to be updated. I'm not a power user or gamer so I just want a good functional ROM for a daily driver. Right now I'm using Validus and it is a fantastic ROM, so thanks to the developers. This ROM offers about everything I would want except for a night mode (unless I just haven't found it yet, I realize I can download an app so it's no biggie). I realize the 3 versions are different but just how different are they? I haven't tried Tesla or Tipsy and just wondered if there is any reason to try them or just leave well enough alone. I believe Validus is the most full-featured of the 3 but would I be giving up some nice additions by switching to Tesla?

I only have experience with Tesla, and Night Light which I believe is the new name for Night Mode is found under Settings -> Display.

Thanks. It is interesting that Validus is supposed to be more full-featured than Tesla, but the Night Light/Night Mode setting does not appear in my Validus Display Settings. I suppose there are other features which set Validus apart from Tesla but I'm not sure what they are, hence the reason I posted this in the first place.

UPDATE....I decided to find out for myself what the differences are between Validus and Tesla so I just flashed Tesla and I'll give it a whirl. The boot animations of each ROM are really nice and after a quick check while it's still updating I'm pretty impressed with the features Tesla offers.

I have used a few different ROMs on FLO and luckily there are a few very good ones still being supported (others I like are PureNexus and Screw'd). I have been very happy with Tesla, as it has a number of features (most I admittedly don't use) and more importantly it is rock solid, dependable, and has good battery life (all factors I place more importance than features). I squeeze out even more battery life using Franco kernel (again, favoring battery and stability over features) though EX is also a good option as well as the stock kernel of course.

Many thanks to the Ground Zero team and especially the Flo maintainer for continuing to support the Nexus 7 2013.

Small bug report for tesla 7.1.2.flo rom: system ui crashes when you try to adjust volume (increase it to full) while watching videos in chrome or YouTube app. Anyone had the same problem? Tablet is not restarting, goes to lock screen with the app still running on background.
Thought it worth mentioning that I've done a dirty flash of the 7.1.2 update from a 7.1.1 tesla rom clean install.

Notes from the Official Google+ Community:

    About the ROM :
Validus is GZ-AOSP (Fancy name of AOSP-CAF?) based with a Dark Wolfie theme with full OMS support DUI

    Installation Instructions

ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!

    Coming from another rom/clean install:
    Reboot to recovery.
Wipe system, cache, dalvik/art cache, data
    Flash rom zip and gapps
    Reboot

Updating from a previous build/dirty flash:
Wipe system, cache, dalvik/art cache in recovery
Flash rom zip, gapps and any other zips you may use
    Reboot

Substratum support is there as long as you have root and latest Substratum app. Some themes may have a little catching up to do, have fun testing them!

If you have any issues, grab a log after a clean flash, upload and link here please. Add steps to reproduce the issue in your post.
Do not report issues dirty flashing this over some unofficial build or with some kernel flashed.
Logcat Extreme app is great as you can choose to start recording a log just before reproducing an error and stop recording just after so you log just the part you need.

Xposed is not supported here, if you want to run it and have issues, try an Xposed thread for support and bug reports here only welcome with a clean install with no Xposed present.

New builds have been added to first post, also pushed via OTA. Rootless Substratum support have been added. Tesla & Validus also have March security update, Tipsy does not have it yet. Might build a new Tipsy build when that is done, but haven not decided yet... Also a few minor updates to kernel. Enjoy!
