No matter nowadays internet radio is being popular....no matter some people dont like built in (analogue) fm radio...
But many people STILL love their beloved in-built FM Radio very much...But????

Can anyone confirm that either of Note 3 varriant has Fm radio or not???

We all know nowadays samsung has started to drop built in FM radio like Galaxy S4  ...but after many people showed dissapointment ..samsung had to give clarification on it...but as far as Note 3 concerned some sites say there is fm radio while some say no
Even some sites say however both chip support fm radio, that Exynos varriant has FM Radio and SD varriant has no fm radio or vice versa

I am confused on this feature....weather it is present in note 3 or not

The question is not about usability or likeness of FM radio.....cuz many people Still missing FM radio in s4...everybody like/want more & more essential features in their devices :)

Also would like to know this (some sites have changed the FM radio status to TBC - to be confirmed).

Yes, this should NOT turn into yet another discussion on FM radio vs Internet radio please. Every other premium (Android and Lumia) phones has an FM Radio, so Samsung should just add / enable it...

Why have Samsung turned against the FM radio on their flagship devices?

Apparently Samsung in Russia said this about the lack of an FM radio in the S4: "The flagship model of our products are focused on customers who use digital content"

Although I understand the difference between digital and analogue sound, I don't really care; I just sometimes want to listen to the radio without the cost/occasional unreliability/battery hogging of listening to a streamed data signal. I doubt I'm alone in this.

It looks like the multipurpose chipsets used today have FM capability, but are just not "wired up" for some reason. I doubt if money is an issue - most especially with a phone as expensive as a Note 3.

The S4 doesn't have an FM radio and Samsung have sold 10s of millions of them so this is hardly going to kill the company.

Sorry - I've just realised I haven't answered your question; I've no idea !

I can confirm (according to a Dutch website) that the FM radio IS indeed implemented in the Note 3!! :D
See website: http://www.galaxyclub.nl/2013/09/samsung-galaxy-note-3-heeft-fm-radio/
It's in Dutch, sorry...

Mine will be delivered at 27 september!! Can't wait!!

Previously GSMArena has confirmed the FM Radio on the Note 3 specification page, but just recently they changed the FM radio status to "TBC".

If Note3 still has no FM radio then I'll definitely be ditching Samsung for good (I supported them since Galaxy S1/S2/Note2) and go for LG G2 Korean version (no FM either for Korean version but I needed to pull away from Samsung).

I think Samsung is feeling cocky now and starting to pull away from their supporters. Eg1, ditching FM radio telling customers you don't need it, Eg2. Pulling a fiasco with this Exynos 3G/Qualcomm 4G configuration. They are just like Apple telling you what you want to buy.

Unfortunately, Now GSMArena 'almost' says there is no FM radio :eek: in their Preview ....very sad

Now only solution is...buy Sony MW BT headfone which has very good audio and Fm, plus price also cheaper !!!!

I also noticed that now GSMArena state a definitive "No" in the FM Radio section for Note3. My solution is simple, change to other brands :)

Reason why Samsung totally killed my heart:
1. Ditching 4G LTE support on their Exynos chip
2. Stopped improving the AMOLED with RGB like they did with Note1 and Note2.
3. Ditching FM radio completely on their flagship line up.

You need to look up soc processors. ..... system on chip .... the reason the lte versions won't have fm radio is there is not enough room on the die to put lte radio and fm radio. ... that is the reason the exynos version has a fm radio because of lack of lte radio in chip .... you can't have everything. ... they took out what will be used the least ... and left wifi bluetooth etc things truly useful. ..

I don't think die size is the limitation because :

a) Korean version of S4 (SHV-E300) has 1.) Exynos Octa chipset, 2) Korean LTE support, 3) Korean TV Tuner

If die size is a concern then I'd imagine Samsung would have ditched the hardware Korean TV Tuner chipset as well and tell every Samsheep fans that they don't really need a hardware TV tuner because nobody would watch old fashion over-the-air TV broadcast anymore ;)
If Samsung could have stuffed TV tuner in a Exynos Octa LTE phone, is it too hard for them to stuff it with a FM Tuner instead?

b) International version (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) of LG G2 has both LTE support AND FM radio.

Rather than pushing the envelope and continue to innovate, Samsung is sitting back and relax and tell people that their current offerings is all you'll ever need. Being a hardcore Samsung Galaxy S series follower, I'm seriously sensing they are slipping away from their followers and becoming the next Apple. Good Luck Samsung, I'll be glad if I turned out to be wrong.

Both the international exynos variant and international slapdragon variant of note 3 afaik wont have FM radio.
@RA017 made a very good point.

It is now a plain No.

This is very sad. Not only because i would enjoy the FM. But also because most of the FM chips (most of the time, with some software hacking) can be utilized as an FM transmitter for your car..... :(

Sorry to disappoint, but the snapdragon version doesn't have FM radio as well.

My i9200 which was imported from South Arabia had FM Radio which other i9200's from other countries did not.

So it might even depend on country's Rom. I think there's still hope that in the future ROM development it might support FM Radio if we installed it.

Well we can only hope. :D
