The Anker 10000mAh external battery pack will charge our beloved TF101 because it is the only one that has a 9v or 12v output option on it. The battery pack comes with most of the connections but the only additional thing that you will need to purchase is a USB 3.0 F to F coupler.

Anker battery pack: http://www.amazon.com/Warranty-1000...F8&qid=1345071382&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+10000

USB 3.0 F to F coupler: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00695L9BE/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?tag=amaz98-20

Voila!!! I am using this battery pack to charge 4 different accessories without having to bring along 4 different wall adapters.

Sweet! You've already tried it and its working? Just wondering, because in the description it says.

"Note:
Astro3 is not compatible with Asus Tablets"
Yes I have tested it and it works. Just need that coupler I mentioned and you are good to go.
I've been meaning to email the vendor to update that description since it does work.

So you're using the 9-12v barrel output to a usb then the coupler? I have an xpal that has a 9-12 and i've been looking around for a similiar cable solution, mind posting a pic of the thing rigged up?

Sure, I can take some pics of the set up but I'm not home right now. Check back in this thread tomorrow and it should be up by then..

For fone_fanatic, I dunno what energized pack you were looking at,but I own two xp8000 packs and I went ahead and ordered the fem-fem adapter, rigged it up like so and it does indeed charge both the dock and the tablet.

Both the USB and barrel adapter came with the battery pack.

Dead asus tf101 tablet battery

Would you suggest i buy this external battery pack or buy a new battery? Not sure if the battery is completely dead to revive with charge?

Is there any reason the F to F adapter needs to be USB 3 vs 2? I know I need to use a USB 3 extension cable to deliver the correct signals to the Asus charger to output full current but with a battery pack there's no need I can see.

This is really confusing
They list it as 10Ah, but it has different voltages.

is it 10Ah at 5v, 9v, or 12v?

if it's 10Ah at 5v thats only 50wh, not a huge improvement considering you can carry a smaller charger instead, 16 hours more battery, basically a second tablet + dock cycle
if it's 10Ah at 9v that's good - 29 hours more.
if it's 10Ah at 12v, take my money? 38 hours more.

Sorry if I'm being a downer about the first one, you guys have to remember those 500 cycles will go quicker the lower the capacity is. It could cap off at about 5000 hours before the battery stops holding charge.
