Not totally sure about this file, but looking inside of it, it has a modem, and the right name for an i605
I am going to give it a try, over the next week, will let you know how it goes.

that appears to not just be the radio but the upgrade to MJ9 firmware, there are separate radio only custom recovery flashable zips. The file you linked appears to be the ODIN update for firmware (this file was required to upgrade from jellybean to kitkat/lollipop).

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2598225 (post #2, in context of that thread is good)

fallen00Sniper's repo of files (including the mj9 firmware and nd7 radio)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=35087

His repo (radio & root folders) has all the files you should need AFTER returning to PRE-MJ9 stock (PRE MJ9 return to stick is important if you desire stock to retain the ability to unlock your bootloader for AOSP based roms like CyanogenMod, etc.)

read up, proceed with caution & good luck!

Thanks for catching that for me, I was looking for the MJ9 radio, because right now I am on Baseband VRAMC3, and I wanted to give this rom a try.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765021

I am coming for 4.1.2 so I thought I would have to install the MJ9 radio, I did not realize I could just install the ND7 radio instead?

So do I just need to install the custom rom and the radio from the fallen00sniper downloads, and can I do all of this with TWRP, or do I need to odin it?

Thanks!

...

So I put the ND7 radio in via TWRP in my 2 notes. Seems to be working fine so far. I realized I could not do this with odin as they are zipped.
rule of thumb, you only feed odin .md5 files (and maybe the occasional .pit file, but the pit file is only used for a return to VRALJB stock clean slate scenario, for those of us with unlocked bootloaders)

to borrow a line from the battlestar galactica "All this has happened before. All this will all happen again". so instead of explaining i'll just provide a few links to good reading material.

to upgrade your i605 to the KitKat/Lollipop world, you will need that MJ9 firmware update installed via odin... just unzip it to get the MD5 file.

Instructions on how to get MJ9 firmware update via ODIN (AOSP Root/Unlocked Bootloader friendly):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2598225
Note: you have to unzip the file to get the .md5 file to feed odin... AFTER reading the link above, a picture is worth 1000 words, please see the attached image for what ODIN should look like after this upgrade.

EDIT: oops you are already on TWRP, skip this paragraph
FWIW, I've always been a CWM recovery guy (since the SCH-i510 days)... on my i605 i used Philz. My current understanding is that TWRP is the way to go now, here are a few links to get you started. (clockwork mod is no longer in the custom recovery business.)

I will not tell you what rom to use, but for me after graduation from TW based roms to AOSP/CM roms, my next logical progression was into the Nexus 6 world. it works on VZW, and the radios leave my options open.

my Favorite AOSP Roms (assuming you, or any reader, is not in a safe strap touchwiz rom only situation):
after using the offical CM roms from sbrissen for CM11, I migrated to wilson3q's CM12.1 ROM

of course, YMMV, hack at your own risk, i'm just a crazy guy from the internet (listening to me could break your phone and ruin your life), etc.

jheide44 thanks for all the info, I am currently sporting 2, Note 2's with CM12.1, one for biz, and one for personal. The Note 2 forum is getting quieter as the phone slips into extinction.

I was going to try a custom touchwiz rom in hopes that the Samsung software for my Galaxy Gear1 would not complain, but I doubt that is going to work, so I ordered a Sony 3 Android wear watch, hope it behaves well with CM12.1?

I am up to ND7 thanks to you and the links.

So is the Wilson CM rom faster than the official CM12.1? Might have to give that a try?

Take Care.
