Just wondering how did you reach the conclusion that OP’s this guide is about fixing “dead phone”? He is guiding us how to “carrier unlock” V60, fyi.
I do believe that this guide is a death trap. If you end up with losing your IMEI (like my friend did) and then getting the phone permanently locked on top, you will be sorry that you got sucked by this guide!
How he managed to get that network lock out?I do believe that this guide is a death trap. If you end up with losing your IMEI (like my friend did) and then getting the phone permanently locked on top, you will be sorry that you got sucked by this guide!
Enough said!!
Can you help me to restore mine?My very good friend just followed your advise and ended up losing not only his IMEI (could not restore it following your tip) but getting it permanently locked. Poor guy reached out to me TOTALLY devastated!
Thank goodness I was able to restore it using Octopus system (for LG phones). He is all good now.
At least his phone was resurrected. Others may not. So it is up to others if they want to risk it.
If I remember correctly,on the T-Mobile variant of the v60 those partitions are under LUN 5.If you have any other variant they're not there. They have been renamed to Align_128k,and the file structure is totally different.I know the files you're trying to work with, and they only work on the T-Mobile model. Before you play around with any partitions in LUN 5 make sure you back them up!I backup all my LUN partitions with FH_Loader so it copies GPT and all."mdm1m9kefsc"

LUN 5 in the partition manager. That's only for the T-Mobile variant of the V60.
this guide literally saved my 8 month dead lg v60 with "phone permanently locked" now iam able to use the sim, make calls . thanks for this guide, and hope people out there with permanently locked status or carrier locked can find a solution with this. My lg v60 was on android 12 when i followed this guide, got my imei also by editing under the sv menuSome guides are potentially promising but fraught with risks. I will stay away from any guide that involves messing with IMEI. I know for a fact that retrieving IMEI is a nightmare if lost. And this guide invites that!
Frankly this guide should be deleted.
didn't require to restore this partition, if your phone is locked perm or carrier locked.
Yes, after few moment a fingerprint work back

That's correct!Octoplus/Octopus what ever name their team wants to be called by is nothing more than a simple utility to help repair devices. With that being said, there is a little more to it than that. They're getting paid for little tricks they have incorparated in to the software they have found exploiting the firmware to make some repairs that were impossible possible once again. The biggest issue is,people "don't read" fully some of these guides posted.I have always stated to make full backups of the existing firmware before you try any changes, especially the LUN 5 partitions.LUN 6 just contains GPT and FRP information on V60's.This post came from the IMEI repair files for the V60 T-Mobile variant, and the author was fortunate to find it would sim unlock that particular variant. It's trial and error for us all to a degree, but the point is read, read, and read more before you try any of this to have a better understanding of how it all works to begin with! There's a lot of misinformation being posted on this thread. Octopus is just a proprietary version of Qfil with more bells and whistle. And people typically charge to repair your phone when using it. After all, its not a free utility! Reading and writing partitions is all that any of these utilities do. I prefer the Bkerler' Edl utility. The commands are difficult to master but once this utility backs up your phone your safe!
As for this guide, it clearly says in the very first post that the author only tested it on his v600tm and he told you, BACK UP your partitions. If you're trying it on some other model without backing up those partitions then you're likely to get what you deserve. So if you're crying on this thread that your phone is screwed then you didn't back it up. If you have a v600tm or a v600am there are guides here to restore your phone to stock a12/a11. I know cause I created them and the partitions in those guides were created using Bkeler' Edl utility.
As stated in my guides, the partition listed below DO NOT contain any IMEI related partitions. That means there are no Lun5 partitions and some of the partitions in lun6 are also excluded.
Here are the links:
Tmob a12 30b is here.
Att file for 20q which I believe is A11 (not really sure 'cause I sold all my v600am) is here.
