There are no options for bone voice ID yet. HWA options are available after the update, you can find them directly under the bluetooth settings of the headphones. Also, there are many options under developers settings that became available, for example, you can select different streaming rates under HWA (400KB/S, 500-560, 900 and something called adaptive binary velocity). You can also select the latency of the HWA audio (50-100 ms, 150-200ms and 300-400 ms).

Unfortunately, I don't see the pop-up showing the battery. I only have the notification icon showing the battery of the headphones (only 1 for both and I cannot see the battery of the case on the phone). I hope to see this pop-up in a further update.

If you have any other questions I'll gladly answer them. I can provide screenshots as well if you want (My setting are in Spanish though).
That's a huge bummer. Thanks for all the informations.
Well then, I will continue my work on the notification mod.

Why Freebuds 2 or flypods are the best in the market now? its because there is no TWA earbuds/pods that support even LDAC (closest being Sony WI-1000X but its not TWA)

but HWA is useless unless we have Hi-Res audio at 900 - 1,411 Kbps: that's the reason why some say that they feel no difference between HWA and SBC/AAC.

in fact Spotify's "very high" audio happens to be 320 Kbps based on my study in spotify forums. So it's useless for audiophiles.

I will be trying Tidal which promises to offer Lossless HiFi quality audio of up to 1,411 Kbps.

If you are a regular MP3 listener, better disable HWA and stick to SBC or AAC to extend pad battery life. Also you can disable call and contact sharing options in bluetooth setting to get more juice out of the pods.

I hope Huawei releases earpods with "Platinum" quality HWA codec support which supports 24 bits/96KHz/1,411 Kbps, current Freebuds 2 supports "Gold" quality HWA codec that supports up to 24 bits/48KHz/900 Kbps. Platinum earbud will perhaps be the first generation , and a disruptive, "Audiophile" quality earbud (first generation because of limited driver size and quality).

Install this version: Translated APP - Freebuds 2 Companion 1.0.0.121.2

Cant get past user agreement startup page. Theres no "agree" button to click? I have a oneplus3. Shouldnt the freebuds 2 pro apk work with all android devices?

You got a PN :)
It worked. But I can't use bone recognition. is it doesn't work without a Huawei device?
At the moment, it doesn't even work for Huawei. Voice commands works but not Bone Voice ID.

I bought the Honor FlyPods online and got them today. Is there an app for the normal FlyPods too? (not the Pro)

EDIT: Ok I got it, clicked the wrong apk.

Issue with prototype?

Hey guys. I got hold om some of the Freebuds 2 before the release, and have used them for a couple of months now. They've got the standard 'not for sale' across the back.

I'm trying to use the app, and the freebuds connect immediately. However, every time I try to update, it remains stuck on 'checking cloud version'. Any workaround? I've tried to reset the buds numerous times, but to no avail.

Cheers for the app, much appreciated @MirageBlader!

Hi guys I just got my freebuds 2 yesterday and am trying to update the firmware. Currently im on 1.0.0.103 and it is telling me to update to the latest version. I keep trying to update and it keeps failing. I have tried all of the companion apps and all that happens is the % of update goes straight to 19% and then in the range of 25-39% and continues to fail. I have done this 100+ times. It never works. I have not passed the 50% mark yet. Please help!

Solved for those who are having the same issue. As soon as the process starts, press home so you see the progress in notification bar. It will go to 100% without failing. Only took me 400 tries to get it successful lol

Today I got my 187 update for my mate 20 pro. I confirm that HWA is now in the Bluetooth settings and also a new button to check for updates.

This makes the app completely useless for EMUI 9.0 user because all options from the app are now directly accessible.Screenshot_20190212_170700_com.android.settings.jpeg

Not really. Don't know about you, but I had that "Check for updates" button on B153 as well, and it always failed at finding something new, even when my FB2 were at B102 and B121 had been out for a while (and was found instantly by the FB2 app). The answer has always been "there's no newer version".
At least you got B187, I'm still stuck to that stupid B153...

Oh ok, I just got it after the update.
But thanks for the clarification.

I just got my TWS i12 airpods a 28USD delivered en they can compete with my Huawei Freebuds 2
Why? Because of the integrated next song, previous song, volume up and volume down double click / triple click commands that I can use. Why is Huawei not offering this on their FreeBuds? Using Google assistant to go to the next song, previous song or turning my volume up and down does not work in practice. The TWS earbuds now became my default headset.

But the freebies offer this. This thread is about the freebuds 2 and they have those feature.

Don't know about the freebuds 1.

The FreeBuds 2 Pro do NOT offer these features like double tapping, triple tapping for next song, previous song, volume up and down. You can only pause and play music. Unless you use Google assistant to say 'next song, previous song' etc.

Oh sorry, I read your post wrong. No they can't do that with double taps. But voice commands works without Google assistant.

My Google assistant is turned off completely and I still able to say pause, play, Volume controls and such.

I am very confident this feature will be added on a later point.

I can shout what I want to my FreeBuds Pro but they do not respond unless I activate Google Assistant with the earbuds.
