The frequency stay always in the maximum, with the CPU-Z or AIDA64, the visualisation is the same in both.

Anyone know what's happening? This occur even when the phone is not in use.

The print of both app:

-- UPDATE --

Apparently, devices with the Goodix fingerprint sensor, when activating the use of the same to unlock the screen, has the processor locked at high frequency.

This happens to me as well.
However I've noticed that this only happens if I've got the SIM inserted: if I remove the Sim and reboot everything is normal.

EDIT: after removing and re-inserting the sim a couple of time and disabling the sim pin request everything is fine

I never use the SIM pin request! I noted that Spotify, sometimes when it's open in the screen, the screen don't go off, even it's seted for 30 seconds only, the display remains on until I block the phone.

I tried stop the Chrome, even that I no use it and nothing change. The only thing that change is when I simple reboot the phone.

Well, I was wrong anyway: the cpu is stuck at 100% again.
I will probably root the device to see what's happening

I've tried today, but nothing changed. Now I have rooted the phone and I can see in Kernel Adiutor that sometimes the frequency goes up to the maximum without any load (I have to bring it back manually), that's really strange..
Thanks for the research, I don't know anything about root! I think this is a begin off something or someway solution. A future update could correct this, right?!

Report it with the feedback app and put pressure on xiaomi. Also write to their support. Make it heard at xiaomi, nothing else will help.

So I reached out to Android Authority yesterday and today they posted a story about our problem in there page:

They replied in the MIUI forum that they reproduced the problem and reported it to Qualcomm, according to them, Qualcomm is working on the problem.

Please stop with this "hardware issue" stuff! Please! If it was a hardware issue, it would not be possible to fix it by changing the software (which a lot of users did, including me).

The only real issue is, and it's a BIG one, the total lack of support from Xiaomi. This is and Android one phone. Pie update should be out by now. Also bugs fixed. But no. Xiaomi is a joke. I was considering buying the Mi8 this month, but I will never buy a Xiaomi phone again.

I've posted this info on the Xiaomi forum as well, but from what I can see, the CPU only goes a-wire when it goes to deep sleep mode. Doesn't happen every time, but from my experience, I've never had the CPU go to max and stay there while I was using it.

Also, the fingerprint and carrier services hack seems to be working so far. Stupid hack, since I really like the fingerprint sensor, but it works!
I feel very proud, I found the reason for bug, but nobody thanks me.... [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]
Xiaomi, do you give me a gift???

Well, I do not know if it will solve or not, but all the help is welcome. I am sending a lot of feedback to Google (after all, we are talking about the Android One family) and I am trying to contact, call attention, any media or tech youtuber, here in Brazil where I live or outside. I think if we can get some media to release this Bug, it may be a little bit more pressure for Google and Xiaomi than just us on the forums, since unfortunately the average user is not here.
