I just rooted this phone. Doing a lil tinkering under the hood. Does anyone know how to get rid of the warning about the bootloader being unlocked on startup?
Just aside, I wonder if LG thinks I accidentally unlocked my bootloader while'd'st've'ing turning the power off, then back on again???? ;)

I did the restore last night and stupidly deleted my own backup first. It gets almost all the way done restoring and I get an error (process tree ended in error 255)
I'm Editing this because I should have known to put the backup in the folder with the correct serial #. Lol. Taking a look at it now.

and one more edit to let you know that I was looking for the damn duck for 10 min.

Can't be removed without relocking the bootloader. You just have to push the power button any time you reboot or boot to twrp.

for those having trouble restoring the backup you canr copy the twrp file and put it with the other one because it has a different serial #. that number you have on the dile right before the actual baxkup needs to be rhe same name as a backup you made. you can just backup like just boot. takes abiut. 2 seconds. then you have a backup with the number you need. place the backup file like
/storage/sdcard(or whatever storage you have your backup on/twrp/backup/*important number*)/*you backup name*/*put this stuff in this folder*

Im going to sound like a dumb a%$ but here it goes. I can flash twrp image to phone and all is great but i cannot get to recovery mode. ive tried every method could find to install twrp on my phone. everything goes fine until i have to boot into recovery mode. the majority of the people say to hold down on volume down and power button until i see the lg logo then release and press and hold power button again until factory reset screen then release. never letting up on the volume down key during thr entire peocess. well for me to continue with the procedure i have to let off the volume down key to select yes two times. in doing so my pho e factory resets and i never get the recovery mode. so i have to start the whole thing over again. how do i get to recovery mode on the lg k20 plus metro pcs version?

Dude after you flash take bat out put back in. Make sure to take usb off phone. Hold down and power at same time. When you see the lg logo let go of power and press it again. Never release the volune down key. Hold till the white screen with a yes or no option chose yes both times then when it comes back on it will start in the twrp or teamwin recovery program. Hit the swipe dont chose nothing epse. Chose mount hit all except for firmware. Go to home chose wioe. Chose format type yes go to home chose install and select the two zip files one is the security the other suoersu after installing the zips hit reboot and your good to go

Twrp Backup Process Steps:
1. Download TWRP.7z
2. Unzip Twrp with 7zip program then make sure the pathway looks like this D:\TWRP\BACKUPS\LGMP26016c6f013\2016-12-31--20-18-59_NRD90U basically put it on the root of the sdcard or if you don't have one just connect phone in twrp mode by putting it on mtp and put it on the root of your internal storage and then go to restore in twrp
TWRP BACKUP Contains:
1. UI, Ringtones, Notification Sound Changes (Apple Sounds & Emojis iOS 10.2)
2. Boot Animation Is Google
3. Google Assistant Added As Well As The Pixel Launcher And Other Features
4. Removed Most Bloatware And Some Other Apps
6. For Those That Have That Message When You Download Supersu App And Says Root Not Detected or Something Like That Download These Two Files To Properly Install Root On It https://mega.nz/#!tYlyGQKS!F2UEnS-S...a!DBDSmqNTE3FJBp1yiIqEAm9yv37f0B1vuzZEq4mYEhY
7. Install UPDATE-unSU-signed.zip first then reboot system to check if it boots normally after that just take the battery out put it back in and hold the power button and volume down and wait for the lg logo and release power button and hold it again and install SR5-SuperSU-v2.78-SR5-20161130091551.zip and then you have root!
5. Let Me Know What You Think I Wish I Could Have Made A ROM But I Need System.img
Details: When You Are Done Going Through The Setup Hold The Screen or Go To Settings To Change Launcher To Pixel & To See All The Emojis With The Color Support Download Gboard From The Play Store

Hey i have the system.img if you could use it to hook us up with a rom.it only takes like 5 minutes to dump it.i was trying to build a rom when my pc crapped out,and i ran outta the time needed.i learned alot though, and really wish i finished it. All i needed to do was get it to boot up,it was gonna be badass and unique, but it just looped.i still have that too

Heys guys just discover a small loophole for people that dont want to do a full wipe just to decrypt data.
So do normal steps to install twrp and make sure to flash supersu and no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.2.zip and twrp image as usual so you are able to boot the phome and have root but dont decrypt data just so that you can make a back up.

So way to do this Download Flashfire and perform a backup
So click backup then click normal then back up your boot, system, data and change save location to MircoSD card only and click flash button and allow it to back up fully and normal reboot then check for file location cause i noticed it still downloaded to internal storage and if it does copy the flashfire folder in the internal storage to your MircoSD card.
Now boot to recovery perform the decryption of data once it is done go flash to the twrp.zip located deep inside of the flashfire folder on mircosd and then then i recommend reflashing supersu.zip and no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.2.zip again and reboot and your done

Also i can also state that this works and i do it once i perform firmware update through LGUP to be on latest firmware and dont want to fully wipe phone everytime just root so this way. I update the phone latest firmware allow it to fully boot normally so all my data gets updated properly then flash recovery again and perform step as stated above

Hey bro the system.img is available from TWRP. You can make a rom from it like I did on the LG Aristo 2. Just make a backup of it and from a root explorer just rename the backup to system.img and place it in the base of your rom project. If you need a meta-inf script I can make one for you.

I flashed it but am stopped at the prompt for a pattern lock that isnt mine
The pattern lock is a common error for twrp backups. Just boot into TWRP and go to File Manager. Go to /data/system and delete both gatekeeper files and lockscreen settings files.
