Can anyone help me out, i dug up my M7 which had CM12 and installed Viper 9.0.0 to go back to Sense.

But after the installation my Sim Card isn't detected and when I check my phone information it says IMEI unknown.

I am completely lost for what to do and since my windows doesn't recognise the phone anymore a RUU or Fastboot commands are out of the question.

What I tried, but didn't work
- New radio , tried severall
- Different kernels
- Wipe and reinstall
- Older Rom (Viper 8)
- Reboots (lost count)
- Tape trick for Sim

And i'm now trying to go back to CM12. But since I want Sense back it's not my best option ;)

Any help is appreciated

Quick update, got back to CM12 from a backup in TWRP and my phone works again so it's no hardware error.
Its a common problem and the first thing to try is a RUU so you won't have any other choice than fixing your fastboot problem first. Probably a driver problem, check that you have the latest version and that no other drivers are interfering. Make sure that HTC sync is uninstalled and use only 2.0 usb ports.

I was affraid of that, tried all the drivers and cables i could find, but nothing seems to work.
Pc recognizes fastboot, but on phone it keeps saying Fastboot AC. On PC in device manager it comes up with a triangle and error code (don't know which one atm)
I'm affraid it's a hardware issue, but will try to connect at work.

I managed to restore my M7 first to stock and after that to Viper using a nandroid backup from stock android.

After restoring to a nandroid backup found here (guru I think, had so many things open can't really remember:eek:) Everything worked, got service and my sim was recognized.
So after this I downloaded the latest Viper Rom and have been running it smoothly for several days now.

So for everybody facing the same problems, it can be done without PC via a nandroid backup.
